Definitely start with starwars rebellion but you have to play it with the expansion. it adds actions and characters extracted from rogue one which are really cool but more importantly it changes the way combat sequences are performed and this way corrects the only default of the base game in my opinion.

I am new to gaming. All of your games look interesting. As one of the comments brought to my attention is that learning the rules can kill the game. I don't know what you do in your other videos, but might I suggest you start producing videos which address just one game. In the video you explain all of the rules, so that when I invite friends/family over I can explain the rules without having to consult the game documents. That might take less time than reading them out loud. And you can also give examples of how a turn in the game is played, and point out some interesting combinations. Really explain the game; have ithe game in view and move the pieces. Just an idea.

Glad to see you both play this. I'm always in favour of Lord of the Ring game streams. I think the theme really helps the game, even remembering when the races come out is made easier thanks to the theme. I'm not able to play War of the Ring with my wife, but at least there's hope for this one. It helps that it's pretty. You spoke briefly about War of the Ring: The Card Game in the pregame chat. That game is in my top 5 games of all time, despite its flaws. I think it's genuinely a 4 player game rather than a 2 player game that has been split up, but it does play well at 2 if you play multihanded. If you just smash the team decks together, it's nowhere near as good of a 2 player experience compared to playing multihanded. There are cards that make you drop the top X of your deck searching for Nazgul, Rohan cards, etc, but if you smash the decks together that doesn't work. Likewise, the Elf player in a 4 player game is really trying thin his deck down to a small number of cards, but if you smash together hobbits that are designed to go around and around, it breaks a lot of what that deck is trying to do. I really like the game, so I just wanted to warn you guys before you play in a way that takes the game from a top 5 game to fairly good game for me.

Just bought castle combo last night! I'm considering SETI but need to table Voidfall first. The guilt is real! So no Andromeda's Edge huh? That's my goty. Also, not surprised to see Arcs not included on your list. Lastly, I'm on the fence about Slay the Spire. I love the video game but plan to mostly play solo if purchased. I don't have a great deck building game outside of the euro-y kind like Arnak. If I don't get Spire is there a comparable alternative that would be better solo? Great video and love the content!

Loving SETI. It's a great mix of like TM and Arnak. I feel like you need to build the engine early to get income going immediately as the payoff runs out quick. Focus on gaining income the first round with probes, orbiting, and publicity for research. Then ramp into the late game. With only 5 rounds, it's critical to get income and research going to get the payback maximized. Much like in Arnak where getting good cards immediately is super important so you see them as much as possible.

Hey Bros, If got this problem that when I play a new Board Game with people, but 9 times out of 10 they don’t enjoy it. I think my rule explanations are fine, not perfect but good enough 😂 I think one issue is everyone tries to min-max every turn, even though it’s just a first playthrough. Which then makes the game take long and the overall experience is worse. Any tips for introducing new games to the group?

I would never have bought burgundy with it looking that ugly. Luckily I backed the pretty version, because it’s now one of my favorites. Would it still be a favorite if I had to stare at that ugly board? Who knows.
