Rented this tool over the weekend, received quickly from Ken. Very easy to assemble and use. Start to finish was 1 3/4 hrs. Even with an old worn out bearing that was stuck. Prefect for the job, saved hiring the marina to do the job. Highly recommend!

Wow! I need to replace the cutlass bearing on my Catalina 36. I’ve looked at dozens cutlass bearing removal videos of weekend mechanics yapping about everything but removing the cut,ass bearing. This is the first one I’ve seen that addresses the issue. THANK YOU!!!

Mini PV / Solar Tips: (Winter, also camping) A boiler and other hungry electricity consumers can be infinitely dimmed using the "5000W dimmer". Ebay €7. I run 5 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs 12 hours a day, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 200...400W. Iron, dishwasher, oven, electric heater, coffee machine, all internal heating are throttled with me. Videos on my channel kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3SVoJ-YeKebnpI The inverter stays cool, quiet and the MOSFETs + (battery) remain intact because no extreme current peaks arrive at the inverter. Now every Mini PV Inverter is enough to sell large devices. So, with the dimmer, all internal heaters/devices can be converted into base load devices that stay almost permanently ON, drawing very little current directly from the PV. With a wattmeter / energy cost measuring device you can then measure this perfectly in order to set the dimmer optimally. A little hint (for everyone else): Energy cannot be saved. So if I want to boil my water, I always have to use the same amount of energy for one liter. Christian's method relies on a longer period of time with less power in order to be able to use the power provided by the PV as efficiently as possible - so consumption peaks are intercepted. In the end, the energy consumption should even be (slightly) higher due to the interposition of the dimmer, but it doesn't matter, since more efficient coverage by the PV system and therefore better use of the self-generated energy .......... ............. 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 ......................................................................

I realize this is a older video, but I am hoping you monitor your YT channel. Did you have any problems with the frame moving side to side from the wind? I build a similar frame and it collapsed from the wind pressure on the starboard side. I am thinking of adding collar ties to the angled sections to keep the entire from from shifting in the wind. Andy thoughts? I keep my boat on the western end of Lake Superior and they are getting 10cm of snow over the next few days. At least the snow will hold my cover down.

I have one of these meters and it will often show my batteries at 104% state of charge. This may depend on what you set the battery capacity to on the meter vs the actual capacity of the batteries - a bit of a guestimate required with older batteries. I've probably been overly pessimistic about my 4 year old battery bank.

You wouldn't happen to have a drawing you could share, would you? I'm about to layup my Tartan 30, and I plan on using this design. How many pieces do you have? Vertical supports? Rafters? Edge supports? Etc. Any info you could share would be welcome. I'm planning on attaching wood covered in carpet remnant midway between the centerline pole and the edge supports. I figure this could help with racking and distribute snow loads better. I figure if they're 4-5" wide that'd be useful.

You keep saying it "Discards" the extra voltage than say it converts it later on. You should correct this anomaly. It converts , otherwise it would be quite a waste of energy to even use this type of controller.
@SojournerNX
@SojournerNX 4 жыл бұрын
I believe he was referring to the other type of charge controller (PWM) that's "discards" the extra voltage. He went on to say that this Renogy MPPT charge controller he's reviewing actually converts the extra voltage to stored energy unlike a PWM.

After being a marine surveyor For 26 years I have invented a sure way to check proppelers on the boat for roundness and bent. I have checked over 5,000 props and about half were out of pitch and round !!! Why worry about that --- a bent prop or out of round will cause vibration and can destroy a transmission oil seal !!! Fried. Transmission and maybe destroyed stuffing box !!! To get a great measuring tool for proppelers call 772-460-9919.

How would you get the new bearing on the shaft to push the old one through!?!?!?
@glasshalfempty887
@glasshalfempty887 2 жыл бұрын
@@jennyb5755 @Superform Without addressing the method for doing so, one *could* push the old strut bearing forward up the shaft and then simply cut it off the shaft using a dremel and cut off wheel. The problem with using the new bearing to press out the old one is that you have to devise a way to accomplish this without damaging the new bearing. That's more likely the impossible part.

you might have to lower the ah that you programmed into the meter. i found it is never what the battery claims it is. always less . charge a dead battery till full,[when it goes into float mode ,almost zero amps.] see how many amps you put in to get to a full charge ,and that is your number . i think. lol. older batteries are less. i put an old 7 Ah ,UPS battery on my meter [ the wireless Ming-he $30+/- ] ,and set the meter a one Ah.it helped. but it may go by volts only and batteries just don't stay at full charge 13.5-7 v dc very long .. the meter is a common complaint. total guess work i think. good place for a piece of black tape.
