Milo my left turn signals are blowing a fuse. I’m thinking the front tire is rubbing on the wire and pulling it…Inspected the wires at the light and they seem ok (I’m buying a new housing just in case)…If the new housing doesn’t work where is it most likely to short? That bolt on the fuel tank, the fuel tank itself or the tunnel the wire goes through? Manx II (PO did the wiring I’m just trying to figure it out)

I have a baja bug and someone raised it to where the spring plates ride on the stop all the time in fact I can’t push down on suspension to get it to move. I am assuming that the person that raised it just moved the outer splines to get the hight they wanted with no regard to how stiff the suspension would be. So how would I keep that ride height and soften the ride. Thanks

I am verry much enjoying learning from your videos . One thing to add to your 68 list ,and this I learned the hard way . A later 68 build has the bigger tie rods that came on the 69. Thanks

I have been enjoying watching and learning from your videos . I wonder if you could give me some advice ? So I recently purchaser a basket case Dean Jefferies Design sand buggy . It came with a 1600 souped up motor . The motor has a fiberglass fan shroud on it . There are two copper bungs coming out the back driver side . Would this be for an oil cooler or oil filter ? Their are no lines coming off the oil pump ,just a place to hook up a sender . Thanks for some help .

Hi Milo, I would like to ask if the transmission found on Beetle has hypoid mechanism to it? Because on the owners manual it states to use GL4 hypoid oil. I am deciding between the regular GL4 trans oil or other special hypoid oil. thank you!

More accuracy is gained by setting a scale below the end of the spring arm and preloading it by 2-3 lbs. More weight would require bolting the outer cup on to center the bushing(s).

Hey milo great content here. I recently upgraded from a generator to an alternator? I have a fuel pump question. I’ve opted for the mechanical alternator fuel pump. I have the correct lengthfuel pump rod but I had to notch the fuel pump stand to create the gap for the lever under the fuel pump. That all went great until I put the gaskets on. Do I also need to notch the gasket to create enough clearance for the lever that hangs below the pump? Sheesh I hope that all makes sense

Hello thank you for these videos I have a dune buggy sitting on a 1956 split window frame that's cut the 9.25in.or close. with a steel window frame. the fiberglass body style looks a lot like the one in this video ..the fiberglass is in 3 pieces dash, hood and main body. my question is ? how can i know if it is a Manx Dune Buggy. It is in rough shape and looks very old I am going to restore it as close to orig. as I can regardless this is cool and will be restored . Mr. Manx was a great builder and saddened by his passing..

My second is okay in my type 3, but first was slipping out on the overrun and then I missed a shift and first now unusable. In my case it has to be the dogs. I have a bunch of earlier swing axle transaxles to steal parts from, but zero spare IRS transaxles. I'm in for some pain. Still hopeful to find a used IRS box to swap in so I can rebuild mine or figure out a bus upgrade with LSD.

If your shift fork is worn, the synchro sleeve might not be grabbing the dog teeth all the way. Also the normal things like trans and motor mounts, or the shift detent system

I love this video! Thank you. I'm struggling with how I will know how to put the plate back on after the internal adjustment. Looks like you are putting the plate back where it should go. The ink mark keeps moving to the left on the torsion bar. So are you making an educated guess when you put the plate back on each time? That's the only part that's confusing me.
@davesmith6128

I was thinking the exact same thing. He never addressed that. The only conclusion I can come up with is he marked the 2 at "12 O'clock" and kept the spring plate at that setting while the torsion bar kept moving to the left.

@@davesmith6128 I HOPE YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THE SPRING PLATE.. THE REASON BEING YOU WOULD RUN OUT OF ROOM WITH THE SRING PLATE HITTING THE FLOOR.
