Yes, preety looking outcome but... rear brakes? You just took em off? No Suspension either? you wasted some equipment you already had there...

This is awesome! I have a friend who has a disability. He can press keys on a keyboard so I want to work out how I can make the wheel turn in response to keyboard press so he feels like he is driving. This video has helped already

I have done this same configuration using emc utility. I have a problem where the steering wheel turns more to the left than to the right, is there an option to fix this any help would appreciate

Hi there - it's been a long while since I used mine, and the licence utility no longer works 😞 but I think that is a problem at my end. I would contact EMC, when I was dealing with them, they were really helpful.

My motor doesn't work, why?
@MasthaX Жыл бұрын
in case of an encoder, obviously this one is 1000x better (even for a Chinese copy) but you can easily get a small printer encoder of ali express for about 10 bucks

Has it happen to your that the motor has no force feedback at all? Ive triple checked my wiring and everything looks good. Also tried another motor and another bts!

Hey mate, how did the Scooter motor hold up? I’ve made similar projects using Windscreen Wiper motors, quite torquey, but any-backlash through a work gear - so you can’t fight them back. I’ve got another project on the go at the moment, a flight simulator, and I’m looking for a cost effective DC motor source. If you can vouch for scooter motors, that’d be great. Love to hear from you.

I was remembering things like this from my childhood and thought I'd like to have one in an adult size. Just then I find this video and my daughter has outgrown her old bicycle and I'm having ideas about buying a welder. This looks like a great project! I think if I do this, I'll probably angle the forks a bit more and use a taller bar so I don't have to hunch over to ride it. Maybe some angles cut out of the square tube up front so it and curve up to the head tube. Did you ever fit the rear brakes? Does it need them? My daughter's little bike has a coaster brake, I wonder if I could fit a lever or pedal to operate that...
@makerepairrecycle3261 Жыл бұрын
We only fitted the front brake, never really went fast enough to need both! If I was to make it again I'd use 40mm box all the way through the frame. Be much stronger than what I had, where I changed to 25mm for the platform, but it was all out of scrap.

Hey man, great videos. I've been meaning to construct a full F1 cockpit SIM for VR, but want to do everything myself (except the VR headset ofc!). The idea that I have is, if it works well, construct a few to open up a SimRacing local. As same as you, not really bright with electronic things myself, but good at constructing and "out-of-box" thinking. So as soon I saw your video, I realized myself I want to do it direct-drive to the force-feedback motor. Now, I've searched the exact enconder you used, which is around 250€, but I was thinking, it's just an encoder really... is it really necessary to litearally "kill flies with a bazooka"? I mean, I feel it's a bit tad much overkill, am I wrong?

Hi 👋, I think the encoder I bought was some thing like £25 off ebay. The OEM maybe that price, but the one I bought was probably a Chinese copy but works just as well.

Dammit! I was watching a great video of a kid building one on his mums best white tiled kitchen floor, kerf cutting the RHS to curve it round the front wheel, I blinked and suddenly there you were! There's a reason why front forks are angled, yours is way too upright but I guess you've discovered this by now.....
