How about weight training for the chest for Wing chun? Forgive me for being a critic, but I use elbows in method for that style of bench press for the dumbbells', and don't forget to stretch your upper body, I would also use foam rolling

While i am by far a practitioner of any old skool kung fu styles. i can highly appreciate this form . It's still on the wishlist to learn this form . In the meantime, i'll stick with my tai chi and chi kung forms. But it's always apleasure watching this form over and over again. It's very appealing. Who knows somewhere in the future i may get the opportunity to learn this form. Sincere regards,

The power is transmitted from the center of the body, and out, through the shoulder/upper arm, and to the forearm, whether down out/in, or up out/in. The power is from your center. The strike is the forearm/iron bridge. The power does not come from the shoulder or arm muscles. Don't swing the arm, move your body.

This is good advice.I tried earlier today. I've heard the same advice for iron palm training to add another degree of difficulty, (which it does.)

@@drchango2010 Ah I see. Fair enough. I’m a Lung Ying Kung Fu practitioner and you see a lot of poor representations of our style online. But like I said, what you’re doing here is clearly very good, but I thought you meant it was supposed to be our style.

I learned this form from a book before I ever went to a Kung fu school... This form is absolutely special to me...

Didn't know what Mantis form from the title. By 0:06 of the video, the Yellow Wah Lum Kung Fu book by Grand Master Chan Poi flashed in my head and the.brought back a flood of memories of me being a young teenager and trying to learn the form from that book. Those were absolutely among the best times of my life. Oh, great performance by the Martial Artist in this video! To me, it looks like it is straight out the book! I am absolutely floored...

Good, try to employ more waist and hip power rather than only shoulder and elbow. Same for your kicks: power begins in the centre of the body rather than a knee snap starting a kick.The best karate kickers in Shotokan have developed this thrusting hip and waist power. Look to their best practitioners to get the gist of what I mean. I learned this form for my brown belt grading in the Temple school in London in 1982 under Sifu Tony Leung. It is great for stamina building.

I haven't. Any vids on KZbin?
@TaoOfTheFist3 жыл бұрын
@@drchango2010 a couple actually. It's referring to the same set though. Going through some of my teacher's auxillary forms and a chunk of 'em are LKH CLF. Just trying to figure where the drunken moniker came from
@drchango20103 жыл бұрын
That makes a lot of sense, now that I think about it. The foot work in part of the form resembles the "Eight Drunken Immortals" section in our Hung Gar lineage's version of Tiger-Crane.
@TaoOfTheFist3 жыл бұрын
@@drchango2010 Im wondering if maybe the name may have changed at a certain point, or if it was an alternate name in the past? Just speculation at this point, but it does seem odd that several people use that alternate name.
