My surgery went from being months a way to being to being moved up two weeks away. I was scared but went through it and I completely agree with you! I am 6 days post op and you’re so right it is a bit jarring seeing the scars at first but also equal parts of happiness. I so look forward to buying clothes! No more embarrassment!

So I’m thinking about getting it done, I’m currently 19 years old! But I’m genuinely scared of surgeries lol. I kinda wished I didn’t have to get surgery to just feel like myself

im 15 years old, im a k cup and i feel like getting this surgery would actually change everything for me. I go to physical therapy twice a week just for all the back pain, I can never find bras or swimsuits, it's really unpleasant. I feel like there's so much stigma around getting breast reductions, especially when everyone around me is saying "oh no everyone wants your body dont do it" but when im in pain 24/7 i dont even care how it looks

Congratulation on your surgery. I totally understand. I am just 1 day post surgery. I am 35 and have always been heavy chested for a petite person. But after having my son anf then breastfeeding, my breasts went from 32DDD to 32G. The pain and insecurities that come with it is too much. I am doo glad i got the surgery done. 56k is too much. One of my out of network doctors, that too in the Bay Area, quoted 16k. But thankfully, i was able to find a great in-network doctor, and my insurance covered it. I just had to pay the 20% copay

I had mine exactly one week ago today. I’m 58 and finally decided to get it done. My surgeon was great! And I’m healing well. Seriously NO PAIN post op. Took OTC meds only bc the drains I had were a nuisance. They came out today. The more you move after surgery, the better you will feel. For any woman on the fence about this, find a great plastic surgeon like I did and go in for a consultation. I do not regret my decision at all.

The back pain is insane and the struggle to find a bra that doesn’t look like a grandmas curtain is impossible. I‘m so excited to get this when I’m 18. edit: G cup sounds huge but since the band size is small it’s like big but not anime big 😭

I’m 5 days post op right now. Insurance covered my reduction 100 percent. Those of you who are thinking of having this done , look into your insurance company. My pain level was at a 3/10 and that was only the first day. I’ve been able to be active since the 3rd day. I think my recovery is def going better than I thought or expected because I didn’t have drains. I haven’t had any issue with lifting my arms, I’m def watching not to raise them but I’m not getting any pain if I have to pull my hair up or grab things off shelves. This was so worth it and can’t wait till I’m fully recovered.

What was the process of getting insurance coverage?
@alej975812 күн бұрын
@@katebridgers1083it was super easy for me. My doctor did all the work. He measured me and asked me some questions. Do you have back pain, do you get rashes under your breast due to sweating, and do you feel social embarrassment due to size ( something along those lines). They took like 400 ccs off each and I believe the min was 350cc for insurance. I had the approval one week later. I think the doctor taking to the insurance company def helped speed up the approval. I just made sure to express how much my breast size affected my daily life.
@SkyeSolis-o6n4 күн бұрын
@@katebridgers1083 My insurance also covered 100%. Now there are a few hoops some have to jump through. For me though I had been complaining about the pain from my breast for years so I already checked things off their list like having gone to physical therapy, using topical creams to improve rashes from skin rubbing, wearing two bras to keep them up. So the minute I mentioned to my PCP that I was interested in the surgery she immediately wrote a referral and then I had my intake and the surgeon agreed on my need for the surgery and then sent a request letter to my insurance and a ,on the late I got the approval letter from my insurance. Now I’m in bed 6 days post op happy and recovering!! Good luck!!

I was so scared too! i literally cried like 3 times during the process before going under, i think the hardest part was the IV, i still have the bruise on my hand lmfao and probably showering, i was scared to get anything wet so I completely avoided the shower and washed my hair under tap in the bath. otherwise, at my 1-week appointment, my surgeon took everything off and placed waterproof tape so I could finally shower normally!! otherwise, I stopped taking my pain medication 3 days out of the overnight stay at the hospital, and I was moving my arms normally, even raising them above my head at around 8 days after. I had no drains! a lot of my experience was different from what I've been watching since I'm younger. ALSO!! ITCHING! it is normal to itch since itching is a natural part of the healing process, but it totally annoyed me! please be warned that you could be allergic to any of the adhesives and tape. otherwise, good luck!! and HAPPY SURGERY!! congratulations!!

Literally same age and cup and having my appointment soon to get to a date😭 were you able to decide a specific “shape”?
@frayle_2 ай бұрын
@xnadx7291 My original breasts were very tear dropped shaped, and my areola pointed down. I was worried about them looking square shaped because I felt that my breast root was large and they might come out looking wide. I didn't get to choose a shape since I never asked lolol. I was so scared, but! you can bring up any concerns with your surgeon. That's what they are there for! they turned out great and I never really thought about the shape until a week ago and I realised how much it really changed, it's very natural and I'm very surprised on how full the breast is since all my fat was always sitting at the bottom of my breast and it was thin at the top. there's the option of how big you want your areola to be, but of course, even with asking, everyone goes with the same size since it corresponds with what cup size you're going down to.

This video was very thought provoking. You made really good choices to set up your challenge. They are the choices that are recommended by every health related entity. They are the choices we are all supposed to be striving for to help lead us to better health. They are the choices that help us age powerfully. You ate healthy. You slept better. You moved your body daily. You felt healthy. And most importantly you are still learning from the experience. The fact that you are so aware and so introspective regarding the results and the after effects is incredibly impressive. Hold onto what made you feel wonderful and continue digging into your feelings. Keep asking yourself questions about where these feelings come from and you will find the source of and heal your fears. You are an amazing human. Thank you for sharing your experience!
