Thanks for such a detailed video! Really nice to see a thicker desk on the happi-jac rails. How has it held up over time?
@WeLiveFreeRV
@WeLiveFreeRV 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and we are glad your enjoyed! The desk is still holding up well! We have had plants, an ice machine, and various other items on the desk and there have been essentially no issues or concerns. We do not recommend this but there have been only a few times where we have had to step on the desk as a step (when the bed was lowered) and it held up just fine. Again, this was just a few times and we do not regularly use it as a step. We are very happy with the desk!

@@WeLiveFreeRVI’m hoping to purchase something very similar in the next month. I’ve worked remotely since 2009 and finally able to start this venture. How limited are you on the places you can venture?
@WeLiveFreeRV
@WeLiveFreeRV 4 сағат бұрын
@danvanrider5923. That is a tough question to answer. We have never been unable to visit a location (or destination). In that case we have been great. We have been unable to fit in specific campgrounds that at those destinations. For example our rig is way too big for most national park, state park etc rv campgrounds (some exceptions). It has never stopped the fun and joy of traveling with our house everywhere. It just means sometimes we have to drive a little further each day when exploring. For example: you can find campgrounds in Yellowstone national park to stay in but we don’t necessarily fit (ie built for 30ft campers or smaller). So we stayed outside the park, which did add to our daily driving around by 30-45 Minutes each way. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more information/ explanation.

Thanks for the detailed video! I did one ski a couple weeks ago and now I am going to do the other 3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't remember the name of the "butyl tape" I also had to replace the plastic block screwed to the inside of the trailer where the ski glides. Mine was torn up from using the slide with the ski missing. It chewed up the block quite a bit.

Last comment I have never seen that many people there. Maybe one other group of friends every once in a while. I know this video is 4 years old . I guess word has gotten out about the place. Did you guys go to the Pearl River? I always went straight across the tracks, to the Pearl and then follow the little stream back into the bluff. That little stream runs right into the Pearl. It's really nice. And did you see the 1968 train derailment? An Engine went in the river and was removed. That Engine was repaired and still in use

Love your dogs. I have a male long haired. Pretty much the only breed I knew of growing up. My grandpa had one in a truck he was driving in the Persian Gulf Command WW2. Short version of the story the truck turned over. He was unconscious and the truck caught fire. The German Shepherd was able to drag him out and saved his life. I have a picture of my grandpa and the Shepard who is responsible for my grandpa, mom, aunt , uncle, three cousins, brother, niece, nephew, my cousin's kids. All would have never been if not for a German Shepherd.

Just did this to my Coleman mach unit. Seems to be working and a few decibels quieter, about 5. My question is that you lose the two big vents on the face plate of the unit. Seems like we lose a lot of cooling without those. Do you feel like the over all new airflow is good enough to make up for the loss of those vents? Fun job.

Ive seen many videos of jacking up the slide but no one mentions about dissconnecting the slide out rails from the slide, there are little plastic buttons inside of the channels where the slide out arms ride on. These buttons keeps the rails centered inside of the channel allowing for smooth operating. By jacking up the slide without disconnecting you will damage these small alignment buttons and cause major issues in the future. Gotta disconnect the slide from the rails before jacking up.

@betterthanideserve76
@betterthanideserve76 6 ай бұрын
@@WeLiveFreeRV I didnt say remove the plastic buttons from inside the channel, disconnect the rail/rack from the slide. When you jack up the slide the way you did you are moving to entire rack and pinion, the two arms that connect to the slide and possibly bending or tweaking the metal that secures the rack and pinion to the underside. Glad you dont have issues. If you place excessive pressure against the alignment buttons you will have future issues, broken gear packs are the usual result. I've been repairing RV's for 35 years. But, what do I know, just trying to help

We went to a local tint shop in Texas and ,with the help of the experts in the shop, we selected a commercial grade tint and NOT nano ceramic even though nano ceramic is popular for cars and RVs. There were also many different options for the percentage of tint (uv protection) you can pick depending on your needs. As far as the specific brand, we are not quite sure what the dealer used, but they went through their products with us and recommended commercial grade.

Good morning! We're sorry to hear that you are having troubles when it rains! For clarity we are definitely not RV repair experts in any way but here's what we would check. 1) check the upper lip of the slide ski on the outside of your slide (minute 6:17 in video). There should be a bead of caulking along the top entirety of that black strip. Pro tip: caulk over the screw heads as well 2) look along the bottom edge of the slide ski (5:28 in video) even a very small crack can let water in. 3) check the caulking around any doors (ie outside tv spot on slide), windows, etc. If you can't find the culprit using the above three, you can try gently pulling up the carpet/ flooring (not sub floor) of the slide to try and chase down the point of origin. Is there any damage to the walls inside underneath the windows (wallpaper wrinkles, peeling, squishy parts)? Also I'd suggest getting a ladder and getting on the roof and checking all of slide seals (big flaps the move when you open/close the slide). Look for wear and tear and make sure they are completely folded out and flat against the slide when the slide is out. (A great time to get some slide seal conditioner and treat them as well!) Lastly, it's very important you dry the wet areas. A good house dehumidifier will do wonders.to help! We hope this helps! Feel free to email us if you have any questions or shoot us some photos and we will take a look! [email protected] Again very sorry this is happening to you and good luck. Very respectfully, Jeff and Amanda
