I had the windows tinted in our arctic wolf 5th wheel and did the AC hack and it helped tremendously….oh and we’re in south Texas

Hey Gilbert! That’s awesome we are definitely much happier now with the windows tinted! I bet South Texas was pretty toasty and the tint and ac mod helped a bunch! Very respectfully, Jeff and Amanda

what is the AC hack??
@MrFordguy73 Жыл бұрын
@@IanoftheRVinyou going to the AC enclosure from inside and fabricate a more streamlined airflow coming from the top unit. You're basically closing off the negative area inside of the encasement making the are more pressurized and more efficient flowing. I've seen people use styrofoam, or insulation board. There's also a company that makes it but it's around $140, where is normally this applies only cost around $25 if you do it yourself. There are several KZbin videos on them. Different takes on basically the same idea, I have bought the material for mine but I haven't fabricated mine yet.

What percent tint did you do?
@WeLiveFreeRVАй бұрын
I’m pretty sure we did around 60%. We didn’t want to darken the rv too much during the day! Hope this helps

What brand and model of film was used? thank you
@WeLiveFreeRV9 ай бұрын
We went to a local tint shop in Texas and ,with the help of the experts in the shop, we selected a commercial grade tint and NOT nano ceramic even though nano ceramic is popular for cars and RVs. There were also many different options for the percentage of tint (uv protection) you can pick depending on your needs. As far as the specific brand, we are not quite sure what the dealer used, but they went through their products with us and recommended commercial grade.

Hello. I have the same rig as you. Can you please tell me what it cost to get it tinted? Was it per square foot? Thanks in advance. I also have one last favor. I’m thinking of trying to tint some myself. Would you by chance have the footage of him applying the tint so I can study and follow what he did? There aren’t any videos of rv tinting tutorials on here and I tried rewinding over and over the parts you have but you sped it up so it’s hard to learn. Haha Thanks again.

Total cost for us was about $2,200. We didn't get a ton of footage out of respect for the installer but the tinting process was pretty much the same as standard tinting. No heating of the film was required, it was pre cut and he squeegeed it on.
