Thank you so much for spreading this message and sharing it in such a simple and easy- to-understand way! I hope it reaches many people. "Catastrophizing" is a term I learned from Suzanne Giesemann and that's what often happens after some "serious" diagnosis. It means we envision the very worst case scenarios which feeds our fear even more and which in turn leads to hopelessness and despair. I've been there done that. Took some time and work to regain my power and to start co-creating with the Universe, but I'm here and I'm enjoying the journey and look forward to what else is possible. Sometimes a diagnosis can be a gift we needed to receive in order to awaken, to find our authentic selves and have a more fulfilling and joyous life. Sending you so much love, Dr. Nicola. I truly appreciate your work 🌺
@puravidahealthcare3 ай бұрын
Hi and thank you so much for this share - you're exactly right! Catastrophizing can feel so real - sometimes having a label we can assign to our thoughts or behaviors can help us realize what we're doing and separate enough from it to possibly choose something else. Yes, it takes time to unplug from the collective conditioning and align yourself fully within you - it's a process and often requires calibration - that's just part of the journey! So glad to hear you step in and claim your birthright as co-creator with the Universe! Yes - whatever we have going on, including receiving a diagnosis, is always a call to awaken and connect and expand into the next level of potential for ourselves - and for humanity! We'll be offering a 6 week program in 2025 that dives deeply into that - hope you'll join us! sending big love and lots of light right back to you!

I haven't been putting my feet on the Earth lately
@puravidahealthcare3 ай бұрын
That is such a great tradition - when we put our feet on the earth we align our vibration with the frequency of the earth. We reset positive ions, which cause irritation and nervous system stimulation and turn them into negative ions which are more balancing to our system. Great reason to get outside - with bare feet! 💖

I want to know where the tears are coming from without overanalyzing stuff. Often, I'm sure it's a release of something from "not the present" experience but others are convinced that I'm crying because of what's happening here and now
@puravidahealthcare4 ай бұрын
It sounds like you already know. Trust that, and explore a little more - ask the part of you who's crying if she wants to tell you more about what's going on for her, then open your heart and listen...
@maryclaudiapitman5 ай бұрын
One thing I'm experiencing at the moment is a lot of crying. Not just regular crying but crying in the workplace (and sometimes at home) when the 'emotion' doesn't seem to match the situation. The management now have me on their radar and I have a concern that it is affecting my effectiveness in the workplace e.g. being taken seriously by colleagues and (especially) management

When you have time at home, have you sat down and gotten curious about the tears? Slowed your breath and genuinely asked to learn more about what's here for you that is showing itself through crying?

There are times where I can be attempting self-compassion and talking myself out of a frustration or trying to encourage myself to keep doing something and angry me comes out and goes "what's the point? Just get your f*ing head in the game and get the job done. Do it right, do it well and then move on"

Is it possible to be in a high vibration and frustrated things at the same time?
@puravidahealthcare6 ай бұрын
such a great question!! yes, and no...it's ok to feel frustration, the key is to not get caught up in it and let it be the only experience you feel. Let yourself feel it fully - really feel it in your body - and then decide - will you choose more of that energy or will you choose to give the frustration over to your heart and choose something higher for yourself? Is that old pattern of "just get it done" really creating more of what you want????

When does the belly breathing actually stop working? I've done it. Used it as a tool in an attempt to calm down for a number of years and it doesn't seem to have much effect on my status emotionally in particular for sometimes hours afterwards or after the event
@puravidahealthcare6 ай бұрын
Hi Mary! I think what might be happening is this - when we put an agenda or specific expectation on a tool or practice, the body (or the parts of us that are activated) can sense that we are trying to make the "thing" (response, emotion, etc) go away. It might be a nicer tool to breathe than to say, self-criticize, but the intention is the same - "I don't want to be with this". What if, next time you were doing some belly breathing, you took the opportunity to get curious and listen to your body/or your parts and offer them some compassion or understanding? I'm curious what that would create....

I've been in the space of "why do I need to be the one to change and 'grow' while all those around me can just keep doing what their doing and I have to deal with their crap?
@puravidahealthcare6 ай бұрын
I so get that! I can totally relate. And have been there - for sure! My offering is this: you are the one that has the resources to change how you are showing up in the world. You make this choice for yourself first - and then it will also be in the highest potential for your community and for all of humanity. When we make the choice to walk the path of the Heart (the true meaning of Courage!!), we do this to free ourselves of the mental stories and patterns that have been impeding our own expansion. Maybe look at this belief that you "have to deal with their crap" - is that really true? What would happen if you stopped trying to manage or influence anyone else? Oftentimes, I find that there are magnetic links or energy connections between myself and others, and I consciously choose to cut those links - even with people I love! - so that we can both be free. I can choose whatever is brightest for me, and they are free to do the same (even if it doesn't make sense to the mind!)
@vanessapalmer77 ай бұрын
Very thought provoking. You might have answered this toward the end, but how do you know if it’s the ego trying to pull you back or if it’s wise caution keeping you in healthy boundaries?
@puravidahealthcare6 ай бұрын
such a great question! love this. i would invite you to come into your body - when you feel into your choice, do you feel a lightness or sense of relief or is it more of a tightening or tension that happens? Try not to "figure it out" - allow yourself to feel the energy that is created by moving in one direction or another. When you are truly in your heart, you don't need to worry about "healthy boundaries" because you will choose what is right for you, fully inhabiting your space, and you will allow everyone else to do the same!

I think a big deal is that there is a subset of men that hold up civilisation.. they clean the sewers, tar the roads, build the buildings, maintain the infrastructure, dangle from the electricity pylons, work in the oil rigs, dig in the mines, smelt the ore, drive the trucks, apprehend the criminals, etc. Without them we would all be living in tents and crapping in a hole in the ground. For those of us penpushers with easier lives, and less essential jobs, its easy to feel a bit unworthy because its like we're not contributing. I don't think its a bad thing tbh. It's a respect thing, and a drive to want to contribute equally and do our share of the hard work we're not doing. Obviously this can become toxic, but equally these men are not stories, they are civilisation itself, and its a big deal for us. They dont even get a chance to think about their path. So for men outside of that bubble its like we're shirking responsibility

How do we actually change that 'i need to catch up/ get stuff done' mindset though. It also connects to the guilt of not getting the things done I 'promised' myself I would
@puravidahealthcare9 ай бұрын
that is such a great question and a big part of where so many of us get stuck. Rather than "changing that mindset", can you go acknowledge that this part of you is carrying that story? and simply become aware that it's here. Then, can you ask what it's worried might happen if you didn't "catch up or get stuff done"? Usually it comes back to feeling worthy or deserving of "fun" or "good" things. Then, can you show up with compassion for that part of you (who usually feels like a younger part) and let them know that they are ok - whether or not they get the things done? That doing the things does not determine whether or not they're "good" or "worthy"? That you're right here in this moment to let them know they are lovable? I'll do a video about this as we were just talking about it in the Grace membership group today! thanks for this question!

Such good thoughts! I agree that there’s no ‘diet’ that’s right for everyone. But what do you do when almost every food bothers your digestion?
@puravidahealthcare9 ай бұрын
such a great question...i think because digestion is such a nervous system based function in the body, it all starts with easing and soothing the nervous system. Start by taking 3 deep belly breaths before eating anything - stretching the diaphragm in this way stimulates the parasympathetic or "rest and digest" nervous system and can stimulate digestion. Also, looking at the stories or fears we've created around eating can also be helpful. If you can make it to one of our membership groups, especially the "Vitality" group, we can dive much deeper into this topic - it's such a good one! puravidahealthcare.com/memberships/

I don't know why I still get surprised anymore: the Universe is truly amazing and I believe you, Dr. Nicola, have been used by it to guide me and answer my questions. Almost a year ago I was diagnosed with a degenerative autoimmune condition. I'm 42 now and my whole life I was a VERY healthy person. Diagnosis came with everything that it usually comes with, emotionally I mean, and I'm not even going to go there. Of course, first thing I changed was my diet, cutting out a bunch of stuff (grains, dairy, sugar, legumes... was never a junk food eater, so that wasn't really an issue). I guess if I had to put a label on this diet, it would be “paleo”. Gradually I was realizing that I had had digestive issues for years (so much for thinking I had been very healthy!)which I had thought was normal. On “paleo” diet I still had lots of digestive issues after consuming, as I believe, too many vegetables, especially raw (smoothies, salads, etc), but cooked vegetables often caused issues as well. And I felt so stressed because I was supposed to eat so many cups of this color vegetables/greens, then so many cups of that color, and then so many ounces of meat, or fish, etc. It didn't feel like the type of diet I could maintain just because of all the stress it was causing me! I eventually gave in and decided to try carnivore. It was very simple and it was stress free. Yes, carnivore diet resolved all the digestive issues, but I was miserable because I like a variety of foods. Thankfully, I didn't just stop at changing the diet, but I went deeper and started to learn about mind-body connection, and have learned how much bigger, wider and how amazing this reality was, and about our true nature (we are energy!), etc. I got to the point where I realized that all the earlier choices of what to eat and not to eat were made out of fear, so I changed my approach: I'm more attuned to my body now and I simply listen to it, and yes, I ask it, too, sometimes whether it wants something or not. I definitely have learned that I can not trust the “experts” or “science”. The only expert is my own body. For example, I like green tea, but green tea first thing in the morning doesn't feel good in my stomach. Or, supposedly, starting your day with warm lemon water is “the thing”: tried it many times, never felt good - neither my digestive system or teeth were happy. Plain water works just fine. I'm still exploring and figuring things out. I'm not where I completely trust myself just yet, I still have doubts, but I feel so much freer and happier now. There are still foods I won't eat, but I can't say I'm scared of them anymore. I just feel like for now it might be wise to steer clear of those, and then we'll see... Most recently (the past few days) in my meditations, I have been asking the Universe if there are any foods that I absolutely need to avoid in order to give my body the optimal health... and this morning I open my email and watch this video and it absolutely resonates with me, with how I feel, what I think and what I believe. All the conclusions I have come to after years of “trying to eat the right food”! Thank you, Dr. Nicola (and the Universe! or whatever being or beings are behind it all!) Of course, it seems like it would have been easier to receive a list of foods “to avoid”, but since we are here to learn and expand, this answer makes so much more sense to me. Much love to you and with gratitude, from Phoenix, Arizona.
