How do these hold up on a factory hood? Not carbon fiber or fiberglass

Years ago, we called the flat turn signals "Flushies". I have them on my '72 which I have owned since new on 5-31-1972.

And yes, no need to correct , I misspoke (it's all a lot to get out in one take) & said Euro cars had "sealed beam" ...but only US cars had sealed beam bulbs and the Euro cars had replaceable bulb halogens! (we also sell the H4 conversion lamps for US market cars)

How do they hold up on a windy day outside? I guess it depends on how windy...
@forrestkooglewerks4148 Жыл бұрын
We've had really good luck with these not "self releasing" even under really windy conditions. both the hood has to flop forward and back, as well as BOTH hinges pushed over-center, to close the hood.

Only bad part I didn’t see was the lack of using self etching primer when the holes where drilled on the actual car panel and covering the air dam under the connecting part to the body with the self etching primer so it would be sealed and protected from the elements . Hope he likes rust
@forrestkooglewerks4148 Жыл бұрын
I agree! and/or coating the threaded insert with a body cavity wax would offer similar protection.
@waterlover Жыл бұрын
@@forrestkooglewerks4148 didn’t know that I figured wax would melt with the temperature we are known to have lately with temps over 100 my outdoor candles melt like water.

thx Forrest, for all your inspiration, are there already 02 in germany that drive around with one of your air dams?, well the other parts are also very great ;-), i'm happy to see this on the vehicles. If shipping to Germany is possible, I must order a few parts :-) Greetings Steffen

Do not worry about a tii with a "snorkel" on the front panel. I have had my 1975 02 tii Lux since 1980. The front panel was replaced in the 1990's and at that time there was no mention of the difference in the front panels. I doubt any dealer, when asked to supply a front panel for an 02, would have known there was a difference. Needless to say mine has a "snorkel". The tii front panel, as far as I am aware, is NLA and probably has been for some considerable time. There is also the point that the internet went public in 93 but was not used by most people for some time after that. When did we all start looking at 02 "boards"? In other words, most of us who owned 02's, tii or not, were blissfully unaware of any difference in the front panel!

I’ve bought a bunch of interior parts from you. Top notch! I do have a technical question. My rpm, fuel, and temp guages are jumpy. From what I’ve read it’s a bad ground. Have you ran into this before?
@tonyyeomans89033 жыл бұрын
Try cleaning the earth in the boot. Take the panel off over the fuel tank and you'll see it. Solved my jumping temp. gauge - not sure about the others.
