@@stocksy5798 Thank you for replying, I was looking for a first bike and all the bikes that are close to reasonable speed for the lams period look really ugly. I saw the RVF400s with Tyga kits and thought they looked really clean and i don't mind the displacement. Its just that they are hard to find. Bikesales had one near Christmas last year but no more. They look really clean especially the kits with the winged fairings. Thanks for replying, I usually just get ignored. Stay safe.

Hi mate, I would say it really depends on your skill level, how confident you are, how long you've been riding. If you're still learning and don't feel completely confident, I would say the RVF400 would be perfect as they're quite fast but not fast enough to get your self into too much "trouble" so to speak 🤙

When it was new it costed about the same as all the 750s and 1000s at the time. So not many people wanted to buy a 400 when they could get a 750 or a 1000 for the same price.

There is pretty much no comparison between riding on the road and riding a dirt bike. If you ride on the road the way you ride in the bush odds are you will die. Handling the bike is the easy part - it's the handling the traffic around you which is the issue.
@stocksy57986 жыл бұрын
Agreed to an extent. However, if you're talking about someone who just rides in the bush for fun on holidays and every 2nd - 3rd weekend to someone who raced at a high level for 20 years you can guarantee the racer will have far more bike control, road or dirt. If that is purely the case though why do you still have to go through LAMS laws if you have 6+years experience driving on the roads or even more? I don't think young kids who can race should just jump straight on but if you already have both experiences why do you have to be limited for 3 years, seems like a long time for someone with such experience.
@tdunster20116 жыл бұрын
From a policy makers perspective how would society benefit safety wise if racing history / performance was taken into consideration when licensing motorcyclists ? Mind you there are bikes like the 660 Street triple on the Lams list and letting noobs ride them is just insane - so it goes both ways I guess. I think the answer probably resides somewhere been practicality and bribes from motorcycle manufacturers.
@stocksy57986 жыл бұрын
I feel like you didn't listen to what I said in the video at all. But I will just give you two very simple questions As a motorist your self (I assume) If you had the opportunity to drive with other road users who had years and years of racing experience in either a car or motorcycle? Or, Betty, never had any track experience, no experience pushing her vehicle, learning how to brake properly, not assertive, far from quick thinking and panics. I know I would much prefer to drive with other road users who have complete control of their vehicle and is competent. It seems as though your argument is "if you race you drive like a hooligan" that's how it seems at least. From a policy makers perspective, it means nothing to them (which I addressed in the video in a way). Just because it doesn't make a difference to them it still makes a difference to a minority of people. The fact you're put under the same blanket program as someone who has POTENTIALLY never even ridden a motorcycle is bizarre to me. Imagine throwing C class riders in a Pro race..

Im riding consistant 1.18 there, started my xbox the day after and did 1.10s and the bike was on the rev limiter on 5th gear when this track hardly dont allow u to use 5th at all normally . Its impossible to quad the triple-double without it speed glitching either he has the glitch or use the 5th gear speed glitch n tries to hide it ( wouldnt surprise me if u Think about why his gearing not showing) or he is stuck in the glitch without knowing it. The top 1% guys are doing 1.18 n thats insane its just impossible to be 5 seconds faster without the glitch

There are a few rare cases where low KM's are genuine. I bought my RVF in 2014 and it was imported in 2012 showing around 26,000km on the odometer. Obviously you take the number with a grain of salt and look at other things. It had original fairings in excellent condition, bolts on the triple clamps, clutch perch and front brake master cylinder had no tool marks and still had the paint marks on them from the factory. I've still got this bike and aside from being totalled from an accident (which it's now been repaired, I've got a short video on my channel) I've only ever had 2 minor problems, reg/rec got fried and a dirt inside the rear wheel hub which prevented the clamp from holding it in place properly which resulted in my chain tension loosening after being set correctly. If you ever have charging problems (usually the more common problem on Hondas that age), the cause usually stems from the wiring coming from the stator, as it goes from the stator to a connector on the opposite side of the bike then to the reg/rec/battery (or something along those lines, it's been a while since I modded mine). You can eliminate the extra wiring and connector and just wire the stator straight to the reg/rec/battery, I've never had a problem since and you get a little boost in charging voltage.
