I recall using circuit testers on OBD2 plugs when I didn't have a scan tool ( you can count pulses for error codes ). If I had used an incandescent tester I could have fried the ECU. Definite young player trap.

That is a great test case of not to use incandescent bulb tested. Thank you for the knowledge.

There are time were you 100% want a small load on the circuit. It's become VERY handy in automotive work with shotty connections and electrical gremlins. VERY handy. So the "less draw is better" argument is needs a HUGE caveat.

At 4:33 how do you keep that beam from snapping? Is it just pine wood from home depot?
@TheGarageEngineer
@TheGarageEngineer 3 күн бұрын
It is just Home Depot pine wood that I cut down to 3/4” x 3/4” pieces. It has to be a knot free piece.

Suggestion, take the water filter and relocate as far away from compressor as possible. These only will capture some liquids that condense out due to cooling. Air leaving the top of a compressor is hot and the water is in a vapor state which almost everything will pass directly thru the filter. Replacing couplers to high flow is good, replacing couplers with new will most likely eliminate leaks from old couplers. About 30% of all the compressed air produced in the world is from leaks.

Brilliant! I figured out it was those o rings yesterday and ordered a diverse o ring kit. hopefully it will work before any modifications. worse case I can drill like you or order a new assembly. TU and Subbed! also loved the safety reminders at the end! update 7/14/24: got my oring kit from amzn and installed and worked! btw as soon as i hooked up the air right after the repair a misfire occurred. scary af but i had it pointed away from me and had eye protection on as well. so never ever pt this at anyone!

Good job on your video. I like those figure 8's. I need to start saying something wrong on more of my videos to get more comments. It seems like the more accurate my speech the more silent the audience but say one thing wrong and the comment section lights up like sunrise over the mountain top. Just remember the only people not making mistakes are the same people not getting of the couch and doing anything.

Great video! :) I have a Johnson Seahorse 3 HP from 1964. Mint condition but with an irritating dent in the tank. I spotted the problem as soon as I pulled the cowling. Both coils were rotten to the degree of cracked (Bakelite?) insulation. Your video will help me to get this baby running again. :)

I spent a week & a half on mine. Bought the whole deck rebuild kit. I did all the sanding media blasting etc. I bought a whole gallon of rust o tractor yellow. It spreads so far I could paint a combine. It was only $5 more than a Pint so why not? Im glad I didnt try to use those bolts that came with the reinforcing rings because I didnt watch your video until I was done filming and Im already in the editing process. Thanks for the tip I will include the thread pitch warning in my narration. I thought hey "Great minds think alike" when I saw you had er strung up. And actually I think you can go get a whole new aftermarket stamped deck for that mower for really cheap as well... like 80 bucks or something... The original Cub cadet though is stupid priced like seven or eight $900... So with the price of all the pulleys spindles blades belts and a new stamp deck you're still going to be around $200 or less...

I'm thinking your prop shear pin is sheared and your prop isn't able to push the boat. There's often enough friction to spin prop, but not enough under a load. Nice project by yhe way. That motor will move that boat around 9 knots

This "lawn decoration" would look great with a flower garden planted in it. When do you plan to modify everything about this "boat" and build it out of "sea worthy" materials and construction techniques? At least use plywood that is thicker than paneling and use something other than staples to hold it together. The only thing you did "right" was flashing the seams, although you should have floated those edges.

Good video! I bought the Bauer band saw for my son, and later was able to get the mounting stands for both of us. I also bought me a Hercules saw and did not have the problems you did with the trigger. However, the last little part of your video addresses my problem with the saw cutting straight vertically. :)
@TheGarageEngineer
@TheGarageEngineer Ай бұрын
When I bought the stand, HF had not released the Hercules saw yet. That is why I had the Bauer saw. But on the stand box it showed a Hercules saw, so I figured the stand was more set up for the Hercules saw shape. Glad the video helped and thanks for watching.

@The-Armed-Pacifist
@The-Armed-Pacifist 2 ай бұрын
A couple things. Usually, although the spindles are greasable, the bearings inside have plastic covers which don't allow the grease to enter. The fix is to disassemble the spindle and remove the seals. Also, due to the bent deck and weld bead, it's important to confirm that the blade tips are actually even with each other to result in a even cut.
@TheGarageEngineer
@TheGarageEngineer Ай бұрын
That is a very good point. The next time I take the deck off I might remove the plastic covers. I did not show on the video, but I did later check the blade heights and they all surprising were planer. Thanks for watching and adding a great tip.

Mostly well done. Bird boxes should have a predator block over the access hole to prevent predators from reaching in and taking eggs or chicks. There should also be 3-4 kerf cuts below the acess hole both out side and inside. These allow easy acess and allows chicks to climb out when they fledge
