My Friend, I am grateful for your talent and how you have influenced so, so, so SO!!!! Many people over the years. I'm grateful to see you in 1976 in Greensboro, North Carolina that September. And once again in 1977, Love Gun tour and it was so incredible. Thank you for your sound and the music that gave us a different perspective. Thank you!

Of the original four, Peter may have had the most substance abuse problems & dropped out sooner, but after all these years, he’s the most dignified & likable (imho)

It just kills me how many people say Pete sucks, but there are only maybe 10 drummers on earth whose licks identify the song without the drums being intended as the memorable instrument. KISS honors their drummers by letting them create iconic and completely original intro riffs that just (as Tommy Chong said) 'reach out and grab you by the boo-boo.' The drummers that have 'backed' KISS have all created killer intros (Pete probably more) that are instantly recognizable if you ever spent time around any teenager in the 70's and 80's. Rock and Roll All Nite. Strutter. Love It Loud et al. When bands break up, EVERYBODY IS THE BASTARD. As is usually the case, the co-founders retained the name and rights, and the ousted ones fade away into obscurity with tarnished reps. This certainly happened to Ace and Pete, but this clip of Pete just helping out young wannabes shows that whatever happened between he and his bandmates, he still is a human with a soul. And I speak THIS from experience: an older man gets kinder as he ages. And Pete is a consummate pro; he took lessons from Gene Kruppa, the equivalent of saying Ace took guitar from Les Paul (he didn't). The album that blasted KISS into a 50-year orbit was recorded on 3 separate nights. 4 musicians. 3 shows. 12 mono tracks on tape. Only Pete's tapes needed no editing. None. You're talking 8-1/2 to 9 hours of single take perfect drumming. Look up the isolated drum track on youtube. The entire show, not one missed beat. One of the best single bass drummers I ever saw (and single bass impresses me more; requires a fast right foot)
