HI Mick & Co. Good review. Chainsaws are the most dangerous piece of equipment that ANY ONE can buy. I've had people ask me to get a chainsaw running and then ask how do I use it 🤦‍♂ Manual oil pump, my 1970's Danarm has a manual pump. And who reads the manual? Me and you RTFI, everyone now expects it to do stuff like that. Stihl have a smaller blade version for about £160 that oils the blade. Sharpening that chain might be possible on my my sharpener, but smaller versions might require a small 12V sharpener (about £15 from various places), or a chain file. And I've banged my head often. Shaving it allows plaster to adhere? 🤣

Nice little tool. Cutting cedar tends to gum up the chain and bar so a good cleaning afterwards would be good. For the larger logs, a slight undercut will keep the cut from peeling. Good video mate!

Picked one up last year, and has been just fine. I did a bit of pruning on several trees in the yard, and no real issues. I just had to remember to periodically pump the oiler bulb, but not a big deal. I look at this item as the tool you would use if you had a good bit of pruning to do that hand snips wouldn't work and you don't really have space or need for a 16" or 18" regular chainsaw. I'm also pretty sure it's the same battery footprint as a Makita, so you could put a better/bigger battery on it. I also purchased a battery powered pruning shears. They made pruning down my dogwood shrubs super easy. Only struggled when I tried branches that were larger than intended - it only took a 2nd snip to get it done, though.

Hi Mick I've got the 6" version. I've found after every use, it needs the bar and chain stripping down and cleaning to remove sawdust, which gets trapped behind the bar and saw body stopping the oil getting where it should go. Also clean in the bar grove . Mine does have a small hole at the bar tip where you can oil the chain sprocket ,that gets blocked. Good tip to use the oil bottle and run along between the chain and bar with the battery out !! . Great channel also got an 30 year old Atco 17" S Balmoral mower. You've got me out of trouble a few times with vids on them 👍

I use after market gasket kits from GHS (UK company), but there are some that are better than others I've found out. GHS are good ones I've found. If the diaphragm is not made of one material (it has layers), steer clear. I found that out by experience. But they are all made in China 😥

Ive used this for a year, great for small jobs, some cheap ones don't have oil reserve so this one is good for money, avoid cutting any thin flexi branches as it will bounce, i caught the top of my left hand but had chainsaw glove otherwise it would have been nasty.
