Thanks Mick, I've had numerous strimmers over the years and the twin feed ones are always a pain to re-spool, as you said you really don't want to let go ! There's a Toro machine where to re-spool all you have to do is thread the line through the head to the centre position and then rotate the head and wind in the line - genius - why can't they all be that easy !

Brilliant wee machines. I run a handyman business and i could be using my titan strimmer all day.

I have a trimmer My dad bought over 40 years ago from Sears and still runs great It ran on leaded gas at that time. But one thing is the trimmer is very heavy compares to today's trimmers.

Genuinely useful, aside from my one simply won't unscrew, but at least I can be certain it goes clockwise!
@gaijintendo2 ай бұрын
Hmm, mine says "OFF->" and points anticlockwise (it is a ryobi much like the one you helped me re-fit a filter on)- and I can't get it off. I may need to drill it off and add a slot to remove it and find a replacement.
@gaijintendo2 ай бұрын
Amazing, I think that is it - I sort of drilled the old bumper cap bolt cover thing and ordered a new one online. I assume it was worn out inside, no idea why it wasn't coming off when the cap was on but it may have been because it had been put together with the spring between the casette and cover!! I had to put the twine on anticlockwise for my mower. You have helped me put new lines on this, and get this sorted and I suppose I had probably better tune it (it is revvy) and that is ALL thanks to you. So much appreciation for your channel. I have tried and tried to get help and had no luck and you have saved the tool with two videos!

Hi Mick. Good vid. Could I suggest mentioning which way to wind it, as even I've refilled a head, and then had to unwind it as I put the cord in the wrong direction. 🤦♂ And Tina rocks! Hope you and Luke had a good time 😁

Noting the reverse thread and winding to go with the centrifuge effect.

Nice fix Mick hate doing them lol is URS not the bump feeder my sons titan is like the other one you have
@JimF5002 ай бұрын
Mick I have a Qualcast strimmer with a very similar head. It very rarely springs out when I bump it on the ground. What I find is that the string tends to weld itself together and therefore doesn't push itself out. I find it a bit fidly and it doesn't lock in like you showed so that may be an issue I wasn't aware of. Good vid.

Can you do a video, how to get in to a strimmer to change the recoil rope or if the recoil needs fixed.

Which machine, as they are different depending upon maker. A Stihl FS 40 pull mech has 3 bolts to remove the cover, but then is it easy start, or ooph start, as they are different, then there are other cheap machines that require a complete strip down to get to the pull mech as its in front of the engine so it's harder to work on and a lot more involved.

Husqvarna strimmers are wound similarly but without needing to remove screw. Tina Turner? You’re dating this video. Must’ve been in “post production” for some time!
