I am seeking to do the same for my 2006 Honda CBR1000rr. I have 2 uno r3 and a mega 2560 r3. I found out the OEM is CAN BUS. I thought about using the master and slave technique have the mega receive data and the send the data to the slave to display all the gauges to the display. Will your method here work?
@themagicm3 ай бұрын
@@deemorris7229 you're overthinking it. You only need 1 to receive and send data. An UNO is slow also.

@1:20 can you clarify exactly what took up 6 mgs of space? You were talking about 24mb and then 128mb and then you said 6mg and that threw me off in understanding.
@themagicm Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I got the numbers wrong as noted in the description. The Enhanced series has 32MB of storage for your layouts/whatever you want to put on the display. That specific layout is 24mb in size. The Intelligent series can handle things like transparent images etc, the images I can use take up 1/3 of the space as the images I use on the Enhanced display. The Intelligent series can store 128MB of images/layouts etc, its processor is faster.

I am actually developing exactly same thing for my track bike. It is a dash, which display live data from CAN bus, together with datalogger option (my ECU does not have own datalogger). I've chosen RaspberryPi + HDMI screen rather than ESP + Nextion (and similar) screen, as ESP is too slow for that. I am writing the RPI application in C++, using LVGL graphic library for GUI and then some additional peripheral (GPS, ADC) to read input data, which my ECU cannot provide (e.g. oil pressure). So, good luck with the project, it looks good.

Have you considered DWIN displays? To make gauge you will need only two images. Also there are displays with brightness up to 900nit

Do they still use hex or whatever it was to communicate with the display? It's been a while since I looked. I think back then I liked what they had but they kind of lost me on ease of use.. I'll revisit DWIN sometime soon. I'm not locked into Nextion.
