I'm using an X4. Funny story... I bought the X3 last year and (literally) the day after it arrived the X4 was released. I hustled and returned the X3 and bought the X4. I also use an Insta360 Ace Pro for POV shots. I like it better than my old GoPro Hero 8. I've not had any issues with it as I did with the GoPro.

Hi! I totally get you! This summer, I had to tackle around 20 km of deep sand on a back road in the middle of nowhere while trying to reach this stunning viewpoint by the Volga river. Thank goodness I didn’t drop my bike, but it was definitely a challenge! Since I was traveling solo, I had to be super careful-especially with the nearest village being about 30 km away. The place you visited definitely worth this sand adventure!

Sand is always challenging. I don't know where you're at in Russia but I do know from teaching my classes about WWII that the terrain around the Volga can be varied and difficult.

I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a ground cloth/tent footprint being the miser that I am. Spend $400-$500 on a tent and they won't throw in a $6 footprint. Amazon has nice ones cheap. I have the same Rigg tailbag, they are great and well built.

Thanks for sharing your ride! That looks very much like the area I ride, Northeast US. Nice setup you have. I just turned 32 thousand miles and it runs like new still.

Very informative. Your gear set up is pretty similar to my gear set up for bikepacking trips, hiking trips, and even when I need to go lightweight on a canoe/kayak trip. I have the Big Agnes UL-1 BIKEpacking edition tent. It is the same as the regular, but the tent poles are in 12" sections, rather than 18", so the tent packs up in a 12" long package. Very handy for bikepacking. I also carry a BeFree water filter on almost all of my trips. It is really small and I have survived with using only it for a weeklong, 185-mile-long kayaking trip in the Yukon. I have yet to plunge headfirst into the CT 125 world, even though I know that I would love to! As you can tell from my comment, I already have too many hobbies and my wife just might have a coronary if I start yet another! That doesn't mean that I can't enjoy and appreciate your videos, though! Keep them coming!

Sounds like a nice setup for backpacking. Like most...I’ve made adjustments to my moto-camping kit as circumstances (and experience) have required. The Trail 125 is a great little bike for local roads and just about any trail you may want to ride. It’s easy to hitch carry and so goes with us most places we travel. They're a lot of fun.

These little semi off road bikes certainly give a new perspective especially for older riders who struggle with the weight and height of many normal bikes these days.

At age 66 and only 5”8’ and 160 lbs. it seemed to be a good choice. I want to continue to ride for as many years as possible. I can handle this small bike on any road/trail and am able to load/unload it from the hitch carrier with ease. It’s a great bike for anyone but especially for smaller and older riders.

I did the NEBDR solo on my CT. Enjoyed every minute of it. Like you I am retired and just looking for that slow adventure. I brought bear spray with me too. I came within inches of colliding with a bear, had to skid and slide to avoid it. And had a mountain lion step out in front of me, I made the, almost mistake, and stopped to look in the woods to see it again, then my better judgement told me I needed to get out of there. Enjoying your Motovlog! Thanks for sharing.
