I made the buns today. K had a very hard time getting the dough to actually form after adding the butter. I had to add a bit of flour. It did not come out as fluffy but they are still deeeelicious!!❤

Hi there! Thank you for your question. Yes, you can. The cake will have a similar texture and crumb. All purpose flour has higher protein content than cake flour, it means slightly stronger gluten form, as a result, the baked goods will have a less tender texture. Great tips for beginning cookie decorators. The cookies themselves look a bit overbaked -- I bake mine at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes and they are 5/16 thick. This keeps them from browning.

It is a consistency that when you lifted the icing out from the surface with a spatula forms a soft peak that curls back and holds its shape, but still flow smoothly enough out of the piping tip. Hi 👋, thank you for your question. While a stand mixer can certainly make the process easier, you can absolutely knead this heavily enriched dough by hand. It may take a bit more effort, but it's definitely doable. All you need is around 1/4 cup of extra bread flour on the side. Whenever you find the dough is too sticky to work with, gradually adding more flour but try not to use more than this amount of extra flour to prevent the bread from being too dry. Hope it helps! ☺️
