Legacy of Darkness has Reinhardt's and Carrie's story campaigns included, everything is just improved over the og release. I'd call that legendary, 4 campaigns, my dude! Yeah it's missing the voice acring but who cares, the og was terrible.

I like the creative literary freedom you used to bring Alucard being chased out of a town to Dracula’s story about how he slaughtered a bunch of merchants in Kronstadt for “disrespecting him”. I’m not sure that particular scene is meant to depict, because Dracula says before that flashback that he used to “Relish every detail of death”, which insinuated to me that it was before he met Lisa. However I like it anyway.

This is a long comment, but fuck it. Favorite Classicvania: Rondo/X68000 Toss-up. Reason(s): Rondo is just Peak Classicvania action with more bells and whistles. Richter is a fun and badass character, Maria is busted in a cute and charming fashion, the gameplay is fluid and advanced while keeping true to the Classicvania control roots, and a Crystal-Clear RedBook Audio soundtrack that just rips from start to finish. Easily a 10/10 Castlevania game! X68000/Chronicles is a weird and brutal reimagining of Simon’s original adventure. And for some reason, I am enamored with it. New locations across the castle like the Ice Caverns, Toy Room, and the Final Foyer before Dracula’s steps, breathe enough new life that makes me appreciate the final product. The Soundtrack is really campy and what I love about Castlevania too. (SC-55 version is best.) If it weren’t so Brutal at times, this would be a clean 9/10. Most Disliked Classicvania: Super Castlevania 4 Reason: This is a game that is highly regarded as one of the best CV games in the lineup, and possibly one of the greatest games on the SNES. After playing through it a bunch of times, the cracks of the game started to show under the paint with each playthrough. Simon is a tall bastard that makes the levels needing to feel more vertical than normal, Multi-Dir-Whipping makes Sub-Weapons practically non-existent, a difficulty spike as soon as you enter Dracula’s Castle, and to me, some of the most uninteresting and boring visuals and music the series has to offer. The game to me looks bland and washed out in muddy darkness. The music, while “Atmospheric” to some, just sounds like someone who took lessons in Prog Jazz slapping notes on a midi keyboard and it puts me to sleep. Maybe it’s because I have been spoiled by the OSTs of the other games, but SC4 sacrificed the Cheesy half of the series for a darker and chilling tone. But it’s not a sacrifice that I thought was needed in the first place since I thought that other games did that just fine. This is my low-point in the Classicvania franchise. 5/10. Favorite Metroidvania: Portrait of Ruin This game is like the antithesis of SCV4. Charming 'til the end. This game is a fun mix-up of the formula, as you have 2 characters in your Metroidvania adventure. Yes, Dawn of Sorrow “did this first” with Julius Mode, but it’s more realized here than in DoS. The game is fun to play, the areas are interesting takes of places outside the castle with these Super Mario 64-esque paintings. The music is mainly atmospheric, but unlike SCV4, a lot of the tracks have a punch and drive to it that makes the adventure seem more alive in nature. Coupled that with characters that, well, have character, and you have a premise for something really special. The gameplay of switching on the fly between a Melee Attacker and a Spell Slinger is something I enjoy heavily, since it allows for creative expression in gameplay that I normally wouldn’t have access to in other Metroidvanias. Sure, the game in some ways doesn’t “Feel” like Castlevania because of the inherent Generic Anime appearance. And while I would like to have seen Ayami create art for this game officially, I think it’s inconsequential here because of the more “Coming-of Age” tone. Jonathan isn’t a classic Belmont, he even sees himself to be only a shadow of his father in certain cases. So I don’t see too much of a problem with it in this game. Overall I love this game and I will continue to replay this game whenever I itch for it! 9/10. Most Disliked Metroidvania: Circle of the Moon Reason: This game is just a slowed down and messy bog. Uninteresting plot, limited animations, a neat little card gimmick that unfortunately feels under-utilized, and the map feels so bad to move in. I genuinely couldn’t finish it after like 5 hours because of how boring this game was for me. Soundtrack ain’t bad though. 4/10. Your list was interesting. Not as bad as you think, but I got my own takes obviously.

Since Castlevania: Lament of Innocence is M rated and it’s not for children under the age of 17, I can guess that the reason why the game is M rated, Is because of the Forgotten One and parts of its body starts to fall out. But I don’t know why Curse of Darkness is M rated.

I do wanna point out people think no robot masters had free will but in reaility Protoman, blues, DID have free will and regularly showed he was more than capable of refusing orders or hurting people of he wanted. It was pretty lucky he had a decent moral concious and didnt go full killer robot. This is probably why light did the capsule thing with X as to not take that risk again.
