Curious to know if the Helios QDTI is able to fit some of those shorter rearden MD's without the hub extension? Got a buddy who ended up just DT'ing his. Even considered going with the Diligent Defense Zilch to get the muzzle closer to the outer annulus vent so it would utilize it more. But even still, its actually a pretty awesome sounding can imo. I have another friend with a LH thread Ti version of the WB...its literally 6oz without the mount, freakin nuts. Their muzzle devices weigh just under 2.5 to 3oz i think? Honestly, After messing with it, I think thats what i'm switching to since CAT does make LH HUB mounts for MD's. The LH thread is so much better and its SECURE, plus no threat of untorqing the MD on removal and no worry about the fine threads getting messed up like on plan b pattern MD's. Still great mounting pattern though, especially from Rearden. One thing I'd like to share about ejection pattern that i've found, is that the shape of the shell deflector does change the ejection pattern, so I only really refer to that for guesses on carrier velocity when I'm working with a standard pattern deflectors. I have some VLTOR MURS that eject really far forward but they aren't actually as overgassed as you'd presume based on that pattern. Thanks for sharing your experience sir!
@AimAlliesАй бұрын
@@musician445 hey there! Thanks for the comment and welcome. As far as the Helios - yes some of the shorter muzzle devices will work. Something like the mini 100% works and I think the SPB may also be short enough to work but I’m not sure. SD tactical Arms is a company whose muzzle devices and mounts I’ve been trying (vid on the channel, they’re available in titanium). The left hand CAT mount seems pretty incredible, if I did not already own the Helios I probably would have gone in that direction. I rocksett my muzzle devices on so I’m not worried about them coming off, but from what I’ve seen the thread and taper lockup is even better. Interesting note on the brass deflection, totally makes sense!

Hey man, I just ordered my first can. I got the Alley Cat, which is the same as WB but beefed up it seems. Mine is the titanium version. I'm hoping that I did good. I'm going to weight, and sound as priorities as it's going on a CQB setup for home defense, and I'm disabled so the weight is important. If I ever needed to use it, I don't want my whole family to also go deaf hence the need for a can in the first place. I'll pop back in when I get my hands on it since it seems like most people aren't buying that model as it's marketed to professionals.

The MOB sounds quieter than the Wolfman on my Banshee. However, on my lever action, the Wolfman seems quieter (even without wipe). @AimAllies tbf, I meant using .38spl subsonic out of the lever gun. I think the traditional baffles of the Wolfman (and it's volume) may give it a slight advantage on a closed action, whereas the MOB is superior on a blowback/radial/delayed action. Also, I noticed no first round pop on the MOB, but the wolf does have a slight frp. Haven't had a chance to compare them on .300blk subs yet, but once I get plan b adaptors for them, will compare these two and a Thunder Chicken on a Mini Fix and a Honey Badger.

Pew Science says the PTR Vent 3 is quieter than the CAT WB, and that was posted in December, 2023? Not sure how you can say the CAT WB is best in class for 5.56?
@AimAllies3 ай бұрын
Because the vent 3 is over 2 inches longer !
@stuartv6663 ай бұрын
@@AimAllies Oh. My bad. When I saw "best in class 5.56 suppressor" I didn't realize the "class" was "5.56 Suppressors On The Shorter Side". The CGS you're comparing it to is 7.2 inches - only 1/2 an inch shorter than the Vent 3? I guess the line for this class must be somewhere between 7.2 and 7.75 inches. Too bad, Vent 3! Try again next year. Are you going to do another video for "Best 5.56 Suppressors On The Lighter Side"? I think the Vent 3 will beat your WB Inconel, for sure. lol! But maybe the CGS will still be in the running. It's not as quiet as the Vent 3, but it IS 1/2 an inch shorter and over 2 ounces lighter. It's fatter, but I'm sure that doesn't matter. Between saying you can run 6mm through it and not even mentioning that there IS a quieter 5.56 can out there, the credibility of your channel is just SUPER! I mean, at first, I thought maybe the Vent 3 simply came out after your video, but ... nope. I don't have either can. I have no dog in this fight. It's just some observations. I'm thinking about getting a 556 can, so I was checking out my options. I'm looking forward to shooting my buddy's CAT WB when it comes in. But, I may still get the Vent 3, for the lighter weight, quieter performance, and full auto rating. The CAT WB Ti would be nice. Lighter than the Vent 3 and shorter, but apparently it can't take the heat of hard use.
@AimAllies3 ай бұрын
@@stuartv666 the vent 3 is all titanium. The all titanium WB is half the weight. For a K can, this is best in class right now, possibly besides the radical defense can which I haven’t tried out yet. I have no interest in getting another full sized can for the 14.5” rifle I primarily use, it’s simply too long. I published a correction on the 6mm within 12 hours of the video going live, and the original statement was based on a misunderstanding of my question I asked directly to CAT. This was only my 2nd full length video, and I do sincerely appreciate the comment and hope you will tune into future videos with comments breaking down some other options 👍 As an average consumer I can only get my hands on so much at once.
@stuartv6663 ай бұрын
@@AimAllies the Ti WB is light, but it's (apparently) fragile. They want you to have your own thermometer and limit your firing schedule to keep it from exceeding something like 650F degrees. The Vent 3 is all Ti, but full-auto rated. I appreciate you not getting sh!tty with me after my (very) snarky comment. :) Really, my only issue is the title. "Best in class 5.56 suppressor". I get riled up by click-bait and misleading titles. It's not the quietest. It's not the lightest. It may have higher back pressure than the Vent 3. If the title said "quietest K class 5.56 suppressor" I would not have been inspired to comment. Anyway, apologies for being so snarky before. Good luck with your channel. Sincerely.
