Watched the movie again a few minutes ago after a long time. Seems to be yesterday watching this Oscar-Show. And tomorrow will be another one - 13 years later And - what a coincidence - a few days after my post depending watching the movie, I met Matt Dillon on a movie set I was working at. Nice guy... :o)

Yeah, "original" screenplay. The IMDb plt description for Crash says "Los Angeles citizens with vastly separate lives collide in interweaving stories of race, loss and redemption." The IMDb plot description for Amores Perros "A horrific car accident connects three stories, each involving characters dealing with loss, regret, and life's harsh realities, all in the name of love." THAT'S PRETTY FUCKING FISHY IF YOU ASK ME.

Best original song category is not exactly about "the best song in general" but about the best song in a film e.g how it fits in the scene or storyline. "hustle and flow" is a song about a struggling pimp trying to make it in the Hip Hop scene... "it's hard out here for a pimp" fits that film well

Crash not only shouldn't have won its Oscars, but it shouldn't have even been nominated for ANYTHING. It was, and still is, a horrifically overrated racist and homophobic pile of disgusting cinematic garbage. I couldn't get through the whole movie, it was so bad.
