As a composer, ATTERBERG is still not highly regarded in the world. I hope that this wonderful performance, recording, and upload will increase ATTERBERG's reputation. From comment of an unknown composer from Okinawa JAPAN.

It's been a long time since I've heard such an interesting interpretation. the sobriety of the playing and the generosity of the sound. perfect fit for this cello suites

If one factors in the genius of the composer, the superhuman technical, musical and interpretive skill of the performer and the manifest craftsmanship of the luthier responsible for his part in the mix, this video, imho, represents the very pinnacle of human achievement. Culture, artistry, skill and craftmanship doesn't really get any better than this.

@mickdunn8423 Wow, this really is a brilliant interpretation and execution of this soul-piercing and haunting work. My 2nd favourite ever. If you like a "woman's touch" as you had said in a previous comment, you should check out this recording by Canadian cellist Gisela Depkat from 1978. --A forgotten gem! For me, it's the most perfect interpretation and moving performance of this piece I've heard. Curious what you think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2e3hWWmgb6AbKs

one of many compositions by Tchaikovsky which with all its triumphant exuberance, like 18:24 , casts a shadow over his death. Artist's incredible too.

Kodaly and Karanyi are names quite similar. Maybe this is one of the reasons why Karanyi plays Kodaly so extremely good?

Koranyi has an impressive imagination and interprets these famous pieces in a very individual way. Bach's music can be played in many different ways and younger generation like to find something different from the golden standard.

I listened for 30 years Pablo Casals, M. Rostopovich, Miklos Perenyi, Yo-yo Ma and others. All of them are amazing in some way, I met this today accidentally and it is so sublime, that blew my mind. By his name he must be Hungarian, just like me:)

Just came home from listening to him play such a different version of the first suite and it was equally or maybe even better than this one. What an artist.
