I am going back to Bolivar in the fall. InWorked Hurricane Ike with my Disaster team. I have 2016 Navion but not that brave to stay on beach. It looked super fun ! Super people there.

We totally understand being a little scared of taking your rv onto the beach! Where we stayed, at least, the sand was really hard and was easy to drive on - no worry of getting stuck! Such a great place wherever you stay.

Nicely done. I just became a Texan 2 years ago, so I get to welcome you to Texas! I’m pretty organized with paperwork, but it did take a lot of work, research. But every state has their quirks. Thanks for making the video. The RV/nomadic/domicile info is new to me and very interest. Will look into Escapees for when we retire and get to full time RV. Your videos are very pleasant!

@FollowYourDetour5 жыл бұрын
Hey Bruce, sorry for the delayed response. We are not very active on KZbin and often forget to check. As for your questions, we don't really feel comfortable sharing exactly what we paid for the RV, but we were somewhere in the 25-30% off MSRP range. Also, we did not get the collision avoidance system (TBH, we didn't know that was even an option). But, after over 20k miles and 18 months, we still love it.

There are some areas in Texas that do require emissions testing. If you live within a certain distance from Houston you have to have the emissions test. I think there may be a couple of other areas but I am not sure about that, I live in Magnolia which is just North of Houston.

Click bait, you said it was free, However your video said $10 per vehicle. Fake news sad...
@FollowYourDetour5 жыл бұрын
Andrew H there are free zones where you don’t need a parking pass. We chose a spot that we liked that just happened not to be in the free zone and since we stayed a week $10 wasn’t bad! Plus it’s $10/year so we can go back! Here’s info on where the free zones are: www.crystalbeach.com/BeachSticker/parkingCB.htm

it's $10 per vehicle. You should not have put "free" in your title, it's misleading.

I genuinely reccomend 4Health to anyone and everyone looking for a good, but affordable food. I work for Tractor Supply, and the only things not positive I've heard is that their particular dog or cat doesn't like it. I convinced my sister to put her cat on it and the cat has been thriving. She was on Science Diet before and getting really sick, so we tried a few 4Health formulas and landed on the Stillwater Marsh Untamed flavor. The cat loves it and hasn't gotten sick since we started feeding it to her.

I took my puppy off of Purina One Plus because he is allergic to chicken I put him on 4health for puppies the first ingredient is lamb which I like very much so far he is not itching as much as he did when he was meeting the Purina One Plus with chicken I'm hoping his allergic reaction to the dog food will clear up soon

How about a video on how well your 2-dr Wrangler tows with your Coach? Pros? Cons? Thanks.
@FollowYourDetour5 жыл бұрын
Hi David, that is a great idea! It's actually something we get asked all of the time. Unfortunately, it seems like finding time to create more videos is one of our biggest challenges! I can tell you about how the Navion does towing, though. For the most part, I would say that it tows it wonderfully - you hardly even know it is back there! We've probably towed close to 15k miles now and we've never had a problem. Gas mileage does take a 2-3 MPH hit - so for us, we drop from around 14 to 12 MPH on most days. The only time we notice the tow vehicle is when we try to go up a grade of 5% or over. If you start towing up a hill, you better just be prepared to take it slow. There's been a couple times going over some passes in the Rocky Mountains that we just decided to unhitch and drive separately. But those have been rare. Speaking of hitching, it's an absolute breeze (especially compared to our fifth wheel) - we can hitch up and be driving in about a minute.

It says free beach camping, then you say $10 to $20....waz up wi dat?
@FollowYourDetour6 жыл бұрын
You have to have a permit to park a vehicle on the beach in that area. The permit is 10 bucks per vehicle but is good for a year. Other than that, there's no charge to camp on the beach. Hope this clarifies 😁

license plate and vehicle inspection are good for 1 year. Our Driver's license is valid for 6 years. We were told that you can bypass the inspection and do your vehicle plate renewal online if you just tell the system that you are traveling.

Could this apply to me if I live in a park model in Arizona for six months and travel in my RV for six months? Could my domicile be Texas?
@FollowYourDetour6 жыл бұрын
Hi Dennis. Unfortunately, we aren't in a position to answer this question. I would encourage you to seek the advice of a lawyer. My thought is that if you are living half the year in Arizona, it may be difficult to claim residency in Texas, but that's just what my gut tells me.

why don't you give us costs? your leaving out the most important things
@FollowYourDetour6 жыл бұрын
the reason is that the cost will vary for each person, depending on the value of the vehicles being registered. You can look up the current cost for DL here: www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/fees.htm
@billyjohnson28716 жыл бұрын
you can give costs for your vehicle then people have an idea

billy johnson yeah your probably right. At this point t I don't recall exactly, but I'd guess we paid between $350 - $450 to register our Navion and Jeep and get our licenses.
