My dad used to sing this to us when we were young kids. I think my dad sang it better. My dad could sing really good, he's 75 now and he can still sing ❤

AND HER BLACK VELVET HIGH-HEELS!! AND MY DAD WEARING HIS BEST SUNDAY SUIT !! THEY WERE GORGEOUS TOGETHER ❤️ ALL READY TO GO OUT ON THE NIGHT OF THE TOWN 😊I THOUGHT,AS A LITTLE GIRL, THAT THEY LOOKED LIKE “ HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY 😁 DAD WOULD PLAY THIS PARTICULAR SONG ALOT , OVER AND OVER AGAIN, AND I REMEMBER MOM AND DAD DANCING TO ALL THE GREAT BIG BAND MUSIC THAT HE HAD , GLENN MILLER, TOMMY AND JIMMY DORSEY, FRANK SINATRA!!! BUT THIS ONE SONG , “ SO RARE “ IS THE ONE THAT EXEMPTIFIES MY MOM AND DAD, ESPECIALLY OUR DAD!!! HE LOVED DANCING, AND I JUST WISHED THEY WENT OUT DANCING MORE OFTEN!!! AWWW LIFE!!! US KIDS , ERNIE, DEBBIE AND ME (SUZY) SURE MISS YOU MOM AND DAD………….. MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY !!! THOSE WERE THE “ BEST YEARS “ GROWING UP, LATE 50’s AND THE “ CRAZY 60’s !! Life is but a vapor, like a puff of smoke, now you see it, now you don't. It's so fleeting. Strange... even when I was living in that time of sunshine, beautiful skys, beautiful people, barefoot freedom on dirt roads and green fields... getting carried away by the music and wonderful feelings, even then in the very midst of overwhelming joy, I knew it wouldn't last.. I knew it was temporary.. and that there was nothing I could do to stop it from ending.

SUZY HERE, MICHIGANDER ✝️🇺🇸🍁 I REMEMBER MY DAD PLAYING THIS ON OUR BRAND NEW “ AMPLIFIED RECORD PLAYER “, , I HAD TO BE PROBABLY AROUND 4 OR 5 YRS.OLD, I WAS BORN IN OCTOBER 1956, AND I REMEMBER HIM PLAYING THIS RECORD OVER AND OVER MANY TIMES, AND HIM DANCING WITH OUR MOTHER IN THE LIVING-ROOM 😁IT WAS A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES 😊DAD HAD TONS OF “ GREAT MUSIC “, JIMMY DORSEY , GLENN MILLER, TOMMY DORSEY , CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD ( FRANK SINATRA ) , DEAN MARTIN, LOUIS ARMSTRONG, AND AL HIRT , WE , MY MOM AND US KIDS SEEN AL HIRT IN PERSON , MAN OH MAN , THIS WAS REAL COOL 😎!! I LOVE ALL THIS BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, BUT PARTICULAR SONG BRINGS BACK MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF MOM AND DAD DANCING 😁 IT IS BY FAR MY” FAVORITE SONG OF THAT ERA !!!! “ MISS YOU MOM AND DAD “ SOOOO MUCH!!! BEYOND WORDS!!!❤️🥲🥲❤️ LOVE YOU BOTH!!❤️❤️🥲🥲

Summer of '72 my bestie and I would be cruising in his green Mustang in the wee hours of the morning and this song would be playing on the radio. Good times. RIP Mike (1954-2022)

This song made me start working lol. After hearing it on my big brothers EP in Oct 71 i was hooked, but he wouldn't let me near his record collection of course so i vowed to start my own. So at the ripe age of 7 i got a xmas paper round & first job. Its release in Feb 72 as a single was perfect timing and boy was I proud of myself and loved Argent ever since.. fun fact The Hammond B3 solo on this long version track has been described by keyboard-player Rick Wakeman as the "greatest organ solo ever." .. not bad coming from a master himself

Saw these guys in concert in SATX in 1970 with John Mayall and the Dead. This song blew my mind and I bought the LP the next day. Still one of my forever faves. RIP Pattie and David, singing for the angels now.
