Tired Of One Of My Favorite Rock Songs Being Represented By One Picture Videos. Please. This Song Deserves Better. Give Me Some Funky Pictures. The Guys In The Steam Room Didn't Even Play On The Record. What A Smash.Always Has It. How Could They Think This Was Junk? Thank Goodness The 1969 Brilliant Radio D.J's Thought Different. What A Masterpiece. I Would Have Told Them They Had A Smash. Timeless. Thanks Paul Leka And The Singer Mr. De Carlo And Whoever Is Playing Those Funky Drums And Xylophone.

Steam was a made up name for the 3 studio musicians that recorded this, Gary DeCarlo (lead), Paul Leka and Dale Frashuer. Produced by Leka. Too bad it took 30 years for DeCarlo to be recognized as the real lead singer. DeCarlo is the only survivor of the three. He still performs as Gary DeCarlo is Steam.

My older brother was a fanatic in having every cool song on the 45 RPM vinyl record, and this was one that he wore out and bought another and did the same thing. When they wear out, they turn a whitish in the grooves. He did that to many of his records! Thank you for posting this song. Memories are all I have now of my brother and his favorite music.

Producer Paul Leka had been a member of the Chateaus and the group recorded "It's the Magic in You" as the intended plug side. They needed something as filler for the flip-side & rearranged "Kiss Him Goodbye" - a song they had originally cut in the early 60's. A Georgia radio dj decided to play the b-side & his phones lit up. Other jocks followed, & "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" took off, overshadowing the intended a-side.

So we do state testing at my school every year. We have a pep rally the friday before testing starts, and all the grade levels in the middle school (4-8) have a chant competition. Everyone has to make up a grade level chant about the test. Most classes parody a song, so our social studies teacher has us do "Na na na na, na na na na, we will, rock the test. Na na na na, na na na na, we will do our best"
