This book is brilliant and debunks much regarding the origin of Imami shiism, especially its link if not indebtedness to the ghulat. He also deals with the bias evident in the work of Hossein Modarressi

Sir,why muslims and islam are so worried about science. Are they facing an existential crisis ? No other religions, including Judaism are worried about science at all.

Great work, thanks. Ibn taimiyya was a theistic materialist who beleives any thing without a spatial dimension does not exist. His views were very crude not withstanding his good intentions. He was very wrong - what we know today of the scale of the universe cannot concur with ibn taimiyyas very limited not only anthropomorphic but also materialistic perception of God !!!

Shi ism is analogous to Sunnism and Sufism is analogous to Irfan - so irfan is the sufism of the shias while sufism is the irfan of the sunnis. Irfan developed much later than sufism just like shism developed later than sunnism. I mean the scholarly dimensions - may be the kernels may be older than the scholarly derivations and development.

As a Christian convert to Islam, more importantly, as a woman, I want to add that there is a misconception in the understanding of the creation of woman that has mislead many to continue to objectify and place blame onto the woman going back to the Garden of Eden. While Christianity gives blame mostly to the woman Islam corrects this misconception and says both Adam and Eve disobeyed and repented. The European mindset and Christian’s alike have caused more harm in the spirituality of the woman. For there to be anything said by them about the wearing and choice of wearing a hijab is ludicrous. They just simply don’t like the fact that a woman who is modest and covered can no longer be blamed for society’s downfall and be a scapegoat. Also to keep the woman uncovered is for their lustful pleasure. If you want to help the woman honor her that she is the one that gives life and raises and educates the generations after herself. Therefore give them education and encourage them in this process so that humanity can thrive and flourish from a mother’s shared love and wisdom.

Well being a Muslim to many is certainly central to our identity and more important and and indisposable than any other part of our identity. I'm a niqabi. I take no issue being recognized by a passerby as primarily a Muslim woman and for their main curiosity to be regarding that. Not for my profession or ethnicity etc. And if anything when a man does actually talk to me, they are forced to reckon with my words and personality to make out who I am rather than how attractive I may or may not be. Whether in university or in my work, that has been my experience. So I understand you were trying to humanize Muslim women to westerners but sometimes language is important in how we do it. Because religious identity is often quite central to many hijabis.

I suppose every human first and foremost attends to their needs . While the farmer eats so does the professor but the professor pays 4 lbs for tomatoes and moans about the price without seeing the toil of the farmer . Maybe it’s the sweat equity and the bounty of the Lord . . Man sees many things dhikr and strange is man that He leaves Him out of His needs

this is awesome wonderful presentation! JazakAllah khairan! As an Islamic studies teacher who really believes in this, I was excited to see the listeners turn their chairs and pay extra attention after you outlined the challenges in the madrassah! I am linking this in my Sunday School teacher training! Where can i get a copy of the slideshow? We did PBLs based on students' interests and they had to connect their hobby or passion with how it has an Islamic connection, a hadith or ayah from the Quran, and how they can help the community with this information. We did a fair where the students presented their projects which included Islamic art, Sunnahs of Sleep, Muslim Soccer players and fighting Islamophobia, Minecraft Masjid that was accessible, inclusive and ecological. The goa of this was to encourage students to explore their personal interests and abilities in a context of these being a special gift from Allah, to be grateful to Him and to gain Islamic knowledge so they can understand how to worship Allah by developing those interests and skills as a way to serve Him and benefit the community.

So we have a white lady, who is a Muslim, talking about the patriarchy, telling other muslim societies how to interpret the quran??🤔🤔, does everybody see this???? This is colonialism, white savior complex, cultural vulture, pushing their modern western feminist viewpoint to the rest of the world because they think their morals and values are superior.

Sensitivity is a sign of life . All prophets wept experienced sadness , loss , some sense of anxiety , stress , , love , grief .if we look at the imams and their loved ones they too . No one should be ashamed of their tears or fear that lies within the current of courage . These are all beautiful ❤

One hadeeth mentions that there were verses from the Quran written down on a piece of paper that Aisha had placed under her bed and a goat came in and ate that paper containing the verses and was lost.

Imam Ali (as) did not present the Quran which was approved by the prophet Muhammad (PBUH)) because of the enmity against him bearing in mind that he was martyred, and he did not present it when he became the fourth khalif because, by that time the Quran compiled by Uthman was in circulation, his aim was to prevent two Qurans from being in circulation (and dividing the Ummah). Having said that some Sunnis still wrongly believe that Shia's Quran is different.

There are reports that Ali and some other companions of Muhammad collected the verses of the Quran in writing during the lifetime of the prophet, while some other Shia and Sunni reports indicate that Ali prepared his codex immediately after the death of Muhammad in 632 CE.
