The Impact of Gender Roles and Expectations on Muslims | Episode 1 | The CIMS Podcast

This episode of the CIMS Podcast brings together a panel of Muslim scholars to deliberate on the impact of gender roles and expectations on Muslim societies. The panel discusses the extent of the truth behind allegations of women's disempowerment directed at Muslim societies and the challenges they pose. The claims of patriarchy come from outside the Muslim community as well as from within it. This podcast offers some eye-opening responses to these claims of misogyny.
The Centre for Intra-Muslim Studies (CIMS) was established in 2015 to bring together Muslims from across the denominational spectrum to critically discuss ideas pertaining to Islamic theology and history.

The Prophet's daughter Bibi Fatima (a.s.) did go to the mosque and spoke demanding her right to Fadak which was usurped by the rulers Adu Bakar, then by Umar and Othman. It means, according to my understanding a woman should not remain and suffer in silence but should speak out and let others know if her rights are being usurped by the male-dominated society.
