The stone corrals, located in many areas, were built by the first Argentine gauchos inhabitants of the islands. The purpose was to keep wild cattle confined. The first constructions date back to 1829, when Luis Vernet served as 1st Argentine governor of the islands. In 1833, british pirates invaded the islands.

I see you opened airlines with brazil lately. But think about this: why not open a bit for their immigration. Of course they dont have to mix with your culture, they can stay at the outskirsts, of create smaller villages. If you look well, they are much closer, they are friendly, and can bring development, they can farm like no one, and if argentina tries to mess with their citizens, that will be huge diplomatic issue. They can even help to protect the island very easily. They are the closest country to the falklands, besides argentina and uruguai. Too much potential here. But opening an airline was a point on. I know brazil supports argentina claims, but thats an issue of all Mercosul, the fact is, brazil is the country which is trying the most to not stay attached anymore to this economic agreement.

Hi iam from ex 1/7th Gurkha Rifles who fought 1982 Falkland war.i went Falkland Islands 5years ago there local people's and gov so happy with our Gurkhas.i found that island is 🏝️ more nice and enjoyable place development .

We as Falkland Islanders choose to be a protectorate of the UK and want nothing to do with an evil and corrupt nation who have only caused us harm. That is why the UK is involved, as we require protection from your evil government, your soldiers were violent and cruel when they were here and are not remembered fondly. I would also suggest that proximity is not ownership, if you leave your phone at my house it does not become mine because I'm closer. Moreover, the Falklands are closer to Chile than Argentina, so I assume you'll abandon your claim now in Chile's favour, per your own logic.

I am from Malaysia 🇲🇾. In years 1999; one of Malaysia solo traveller; Datuk Azhar Mansor; with yacht who travelled aroud the world for 190 days had landed in Falkland Island to fix the damaged yacht. The welcoming memories from the Falklanders were huge. Thank You so much Falklanders. 🙏 I ❤️love🌹 you 👍all.✍️

Insisto deberías estudiar un poco de historia y mejorar la forma en que comunicas tus ideas. No tiene porque gustarte mí país. you have trees here and there among the houses so you could have forests which would cut down the wind ,also its a lot of work but you could look at walled gardens for growing fruit , get a copy of the Victorian kitchen garden book or watch the tv series . a walled garden and shelter belts of trees

Not a single tree is seen throughout the bus journey. Why is there no native trees on the islands? There are some in Stanley but those are most probably planted.

The people on the Falkland Islands, Islas Malvinas, should be able to choose their status either as part of Argentina, or as a self governing entity under Britain, or as a totally independent country. Let the inhabitants decide for themselves how they want to live. At the moment they choose to the British State to be their protectors. This may change in the future. We should respect their choice whatever they choose now or in future. Poland, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia etc all had the opportunity to choose their status. Argentina itself was a colony of Spain that chose to be independent as did the rest of Spanish speaking Americas. Practically every country that exists chose to be independent from another country. The people of the Falkand Islands/ Islas Malvinas should be able to choose what they want themselves. Peace to all and may we all learn to desire the best for all without wanting to dominate anyone else.

Falkland islanders had the choice in 2013 to decide if they wanted to become British or independent and overwhelmingly voted to stay British

@@paulc2130 They choosed to remain british becouse simply they are british. And they are british becouse the sole purpose of colonialism in that territory is to mantain a britishness paradise. If the people living there were different from those living in Britain, there would not be a population of 97.9% of british origins and certainly there would not be a colony. I cant believe i have to explain the basic principles of colonialism to a colonial power.
