The Croton that was sitting in the floor, how old is it? Is it real?
@plantyhomeАй бұрын
The video team kindly provided the image, so I'm not aware of the exact age of the croton plant. However, with proper care, croton plants can thrive for many years, and some even surpass the impressive milestone of 10 years or more.

Snake plants do not like low light conditions, looking sickly if grown in truly low light. They need to be near a window to be ok and they love direct light and grow well in full sun.
@plantyhomeАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Nope, that statement isn't completely true. Although snake plants can handle low light situations, they might not flourish in those environments. They are flexible and can survive in low light, but they actually prefer bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can actually harm snake plants by scorching their leaves. So, it's better to position them close to a window where they can get a good amount of indirect sunlight all day long.

@@plantyhome I've seen them growing quite happily in full sun along sidewalks here in Mexico City.

I would never put my snake plant in full sun, mine flourish and even bloom in east facing window……

Diffenbachia is poisonous to animals if they eat it
@plantyhomeАй бұрын
Thanks for letting us know about this. You're absolutely right. Dumb cane, also known as Dieffenbachia, can be toxic to animals if they eat it. It has these calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate and swell up their mouth and throat, making it hard for them to swallow and causing possible digestive problems. To keep our furry friends safe, it's important to keep this plant away from their reach.

Beautiful video and plant. I have a dark green one . I just put it in water the roots was not growing. I had it since last summer. It was doing well but now had to do that then I, will repot it. It likes it by the kitchen window.
@plantyhome2 ай бұрын
To improve the growth and vitality of your plant, consider using soluble rooting hormones mixed with water. This will provide essential nutrients that water alone lacks, resulting in better plant growth. Additionally, it is important to regularly feed your plant with root strengthening fertilizers every month. One effective option is the "NPK 10 52 10" growth promoter, which will further enhance your plant's growth. Now, onto the second part of your question. It is not advisable to directly plant your plant in the soil after it has been in water for a prolonged period. This is because the roots have adapted to the water environment, and transplanting it directly into soil may shock the plant. It is best to continue keeping your plant in water. If you eventually wish to transfer your plant to soil, there is a process to follow. Start by keeping your plant in small-sized perlite for approximately 2 months. This will allow the roots to gradually adjust and become resistant to the soil. Once the roots are ready, you can then transfer the plant to the appropriate soil for continued growth.
