the first place I worked was a Sawmill that had a B61 single axel Log truck a B75 Tamdem lumber truck and a B 83 Tamdem Arch truck! Not a lot of people had Macks So I thought it was different to see. All three of those trucks had defroster fan hanging from front Center of the cab. The B 83 had the big Squair fenders.

@MaddogtruckingАй бұрын
@Only4Trucks thanks for watching. Love your channel. Been watching for a while now. I had a friend that worked at a body shop spray it. I think it's just automotive paint over a sanded down surface. It was done about 10+ years ago. It's holding up fine.

@@Maddogtrucking absolutely man! I'm about to surf through the rest of your videos lol and wow that's awesome thank you for watching my videos! I have struggled to find an original white Mack wheel, but painting honestly didn't even cross my mind 🤦🤣 but makes total sense and I'm gonna give it a shot!
@MaddogtruckingАй бұрын
@Only4Trucks I left it to the pros when I had it painted but it's held up great. If the wheel has cracks in it you can fill it with a special putty made for older steering wheels that doesn't shrink. Search for steering wheel repair. Thanks!!

I have always loved b-models. I contemplated restoring one about a decade ago, but went a different route. I never got a chance to sit in one. How cramped in the cab to sit in? I’m 6’4”, and I found the R-models I ran acceptable, but just cutting it in terms of leg room.
@MaddogtruckingАй бұрын
@Xkekeskfndsmw the b61 is definitely cramped. The b75 with lower floor board is better. The L cab b models were similar to a R model.

For those who said he should get 3406, I think that Mack e9 v8 could eat and spit every 3406 in terms of power and torque.

For some reason I thought E7 then I remembered E7s didn't show up till the 80s 😂
@antiteroristickejedinicepo4830Ай бұрын
@@thekodiak77i said that because everyone were comparing this old mack with newer trucks with 3406 or c15 but when this truck was made in 60s and 70s caterpilar didn't yet have a good truck engine with engine brake. Comparing cat with this old trucks is stupid, if we are comparing equal engines timeline e9 would smoke the kitty like this mack would smoke 60s cat engines.

Very nice, my uncle owns a 1977 Mack R model and he still works with it. Is your truck supercharged as well as turbocharged? I can see two hoses coming from the air intake, the bottom hose feeding the turbocharger and the top one going to this intercooler shape assembly. Is this supercharger?
@MaddogtruckingАй бұрын
@MaisonShiraz77 the engine is a 285 tipturbine One tube filters air for the turbo intake. The other tube filters air to the tipturbine. The tipturbine spins under boost pressure and draws ambient air across the charge cooler to lower intake temps.
