Technically I grew up with X1 and X2 but I was very young when I first saw them, Origins was the Wolverine movie that released when I was around 8 or 9 and was at my peak Wolverine phase as a kid. I was crazy about Wolverine from X1 and 2 so him getting a solo movie had me damn excited. 0:56 has always been the official Wolverine theme que for me personally. Something about this entire opening sequence was just on another level that rivals even the stuff we see today. Too bad the second and third acts completely blow. If the whole movie was as good as the first 18 minutes I think it might still be the best Wolverine movie. Seriously the time jump at exactly 18 minutes right after Logan quits Special Forces and he's whipped by the schoolteacher is where the movie starts to fall apart.

I totally can see (well, hear) the Lord of the Rings theme here, some of my favorite note progressions in the Star Trek 4 theme are taken from it, but that doesn't make it necessarily bad. What I like the most of the ST4 theme is the gleefully and daydreaming energy it has, wich is very fitting for Star Trek and the optimistic future it represents. So yeah, it's epic, it's inspiring and exciting just like Star Trek is for me 😊

This movie made me get so much more involved in the Phoenix story than the Borg assimilation plot. Of course the Borg plot is interesting and the action scenes are cool as heck, but the emotional and historical significance of the Phoenix is so beautiful and deep... And I'm not even a trekkie, this is one of the only Star Trek movies I've ever watched!
