I don't know where to begin tbh. I can't believe ANYONE was ok with this. She was 13. Period. How would those defending him feel if it was their daughter? Plus the fact that their cousins,omg. Idc what decade it is, where you are from,its just wrong on so many levels. Even today, ppl worship celebrities and think they can do no wrong, it has to stop 🤮🤢🤑

I'm guessing there's been a disagreement between Sam & DL & team backstage--and Sam does'nt want to play ball.--Real spiky there.

Competition for The Preachers! - (We teenagers were 'with The Devil' here!) - NO, even here in the UK You may marry Your Cousin! This Law is quoted in the front of 'The Book of Common Prayer'. "Rock and Roll will never die",
@davidhorn60082 ай бұрын
Jerry's marriage to His 13 year old cousin was a perfectly legal wedding. The problem was with The British Press, (nothing new here!)) and their attempts to have Rock and Roll music banned. They should have attacked the 'Laws in America' that allowed the wedding to take place, (the British Press would have problems even trying to do this), but (as usual), the British public saw what they were told to see and not what was in front of them! The British public opinion was the problem! The established society's, both sides of the Atlantic, wanted to squash 'this Rock and Roll music'. Rock and Roll lives on!

News Flash! Jerry Lee Lewis "Never" set a piano on Fire! I have no idea who started that BS, but Jerry Lee Respected the Piano far to much to set it on Fire! Isn't it amazing how BS like this gets started to bring more Drama to a World full of it already!

I don't think this was 1979. According to newspaper reports, Relaxation Plus closed in 1975, and The Commodore Hotel closed in 1976. When Trump's hotel reopened in 1980, it was under the Hyatt brand.

What's the problem with the 13 year old wife? It was apparently legal to get married in Tennessee back then. Then there's Bill Wyman and Mandy Smith. Maybe some girls just grow up quicker than others. The media and the blue stocking branch of the feminist movement seem a bit hypocritical about who they pick on. Maybe it just isn't their business.

Funny to think that Judy is only about 12 years older than Johnny. Yet she talks about Big Band music. Goes to show how big the gaps can be between music styles. Punk will always be associated with youth culture.
