Deal improv is my Everest. I’ve been studying and learning Jerry’s solos for a while, but what I often wonder is how did Jerry practice to make this so fluid? The way he combines melodic pentatonics & chord tones, phrasing, string skipping, etc. is incredible. At this point in my journey, I can learn this solo pretty quickly but as soon as I try to jump into my own improv, I get lost at this tempo given how fast and often the chords are changing. All that to say, I’m still looking for a KZbinr like you to help teach me Jerry improv practice routines.

Love this solo...it has one of the best "it was a wrong note, til I played it" moments going from bar 3 to bar 4 of the solo when he plays a C# rather than a C or D.

Jerry plays over the chords so well, and yet you feel how much fun he's having. It's not flashy or too complicated but yet it takes me a long time to just play one pass well. I love these bends and inflections. Please keep posting more good stuff. Get Out Of My Life Woman is a blues exposition and one of the greatest live recordings ever. Same with One From The Vault Franklins Tower.
