The prison represents our world from a gnostic perspective, aka "prison planet". The Warden in this context is God our Creator, while Andy is Lucifer. Do not let these luciferian gnostic hollywood ideas slip into your subconscious. Our Creator is a loving God who do not wishes that any should perish but that all come to repentance and believe on his son Jesus Christ.

Can you imagine how piss-shit scared Andy must've been in this moment? The warden handling the bible you're hiding your rockhammer in, and directly noticing and expressing disapproval for the poster covering up your tunnel...He played it cool as a cucumber while his life walked the razor's edge

Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. Salvation does not lie within the human being, we could never save ourselves. Acts 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

It's a double entendre. The warden is saying, "Salvation lies within (the Bible," in a more metaphorical sense, but the reality is that Andy's salvation from the prison (the rock hammer) was literally within the Bible itself.

@@KhairoAetos Ok it's a valid point. What people miss however, is that this is a movie with clear gnostic undertones. The warden represents God while Andy is lucifer who in the end succeeds in breaking out of the "Creator's Prison", Think of The Truman Show, it's the same theme. All of Hollywood is anti christian and controlled by masons and gnostics. They are programming us in subtle subconscious ways to view our Creator as the enemy, while lucifer is the "brave rebellious liberator" who "breaks the matrix". They want us to believe Christ is within and that we can save ourselves and becoming little gods no longer confined to this world. Different characters, same story. They are preparing us for the biblical end times when they will attempt to battle against God, read the last book of the bible. Of course, lucifer and his false messiah will never succeed. God and his son Jesus Christ has already won, the future is written. Believe upon him until the end, and you shall be saved. God bless.

This was just one cell toss out of what would’ve been hundreds during Andy’s 20-year stay. It’s a remarkable film, but the idea of no-one looking behind Andy’s series of posters, or him not being moved to a different cell for any number of reasons, is as ludicrous as the fact no-one seems to age.

To dispose of the dirt Andy dug another hole in the wall and hid the dirt in there. You never see it in the film but off screen and behind the cameraman Andy hung a poster of Norman Stanley Fletcher.

Penitentiary shakedowns always dehumanized an extremely already inhumane purely punitive artificial existence, and it’s no wonder it turns human beings into animals! America pays lip service only to rehabilitation, but all about punishment and warehousing generational misery only now turned into big business with cooperations building private prison facilities all over the country and internationally too. Correctional Officer Rick Ross (now calling herself Ricky Rozay) of the GDOC was a welcome exception to that rule! She gave out many free commissary honeybuns galore and even allowed some of that persuasion to split her own chocolate glazed honeybuns for they notebooks full of lyrical masterpieces full of intelligent bars and rhythmical hooks as some of the best rappers be serving life sentences.
