We bought this product. They don't include endcaps, so you have to buy massive boxes of corners just to cut them in half and create them yourself and throw the other half away. Cutting the ledge, you'll never get it flush. It sticks out like a sore thumb because you're cutting any connection off from the other pieces. There is nothing to clip into. Same with the stacked stone corners. Nothing to clip into, and no built in jchannel for the stone panels to hook into. This product is junk. Don't buy it.

You have to cut the corners in half to make an end cap. Dumbest shit I've ever seen.

Be aware that these panels are ALL DUPLICATES. There is absolutely no variation whatsoever. All panels from the box are exactly the same. For small walls that seems to be less of an issue but if you are doing a feature wall say 12 ft or more wide then you will easily see the duplications from left to right. The video sort of shows that and even with the staggering of the panels from row to row and offsetting the starting point you simple won't be able the hide the duplication. It can be very obvious for unobstructed projects like over a garage or along the side of a home and certainly inside with feature walls. I've installed these DS stones on exterior small sheds and recently on an interior feature wall since the light weight construction of the product is ideal. BUT the duplication I was not aware of till well into the project. SO BEWARE. The product is robust enough but from a design perspective too repetitive to be realistic. I did leave a review on HD and the manufacturer did request me to contact them so I did. All I heard was that it was expensive to make the injection molds and the market might not really care. So I really got nowhere and the customer service guy basically said he'll bring it to the R and D department. Sadly this product has been on the market for 10 years or more and they still haven't upped their game. This needs to be at least three different variations in the box but all you get are duplicates. There are other urethane products which have not only stone variation but also colour variation. Sadly up here in Canada we have very limited choice .

The actual panels are a bit pricey but the starter strip is grand larceny... $180 for a 72" strip? How is that possible.?
@panddmorales6607 Жыл бұрын
Although it is somewhat "easy' to install, there some shortfalls. Such as no 45 degree corners available, supplies seem to run low in most stores( mostly special order with the corresponding wait time). Expensive. This material is best suited for creating a feature wall.

Just finished hiding our house's ugly brick facade with Novik Artisan Cut. What Novik never mention: everytime you cut a panel horizontaly, the part that you cut off is 100% wasted. We bought 30 pieces. According to our calculations, we only needed 25. Well....we bought 43 panels in total. Going around doors, windows, garage doors...etc wastes a lot of panel. Also, here in Canada, their distribution totally sucks. Novik sales to Mitten and Mitten sales to the hardware store. Everyone takes a cuts. Some details on panels mechanical engineering flaws. Also lead time is about 3 weeks!! Basically, will never use Novik products again

Shame on Novik for the huge prices on there ledge trim. 3600 dollars for a fucking strip of plastic that goes around a trailer. If I knew ahead of time that they were going to rip me off I wouldn’t have bought there dry stone product. I will warn everyone I know of this price gouging.

Right, all I'm trying to do is get the exact dimensions of their j channel so I can buy any other brand other than theirs. They want 4 times the price per foot of any other color matched trim at Menards

Pretty vague on how to cut for windows. It said to cut pieces 1 3/16" bigger on the top and bottom window pieces but didn't mention you have to notch them so they actually fit. I think they look really cheesy with the uneven overlapping edges. Too late now to switch to regular j channel..

We're using this on our front porch. We have a large ledge on the "railing" portion of our porch and this product will slide up to the bottom of that railing area - Do I need to install a J channel or can I just nail the top piece of stone in and then caulk?

Cost is prohibitive. You would think that it would be much cheaper than paying someone to install stone on your house but considering the material it is made of it’s still way too expensive and that’s why it’s not being widely used. I looked into this type of saving for my house. It’s just made of a hard Styrofoam.

We use an innovative polymer blended with additives and UV stabilizers. These additives improve our product’s resistance to extreme conditions. Novik uses quality controlled materials, which enables us to ensure product consistency and resistance. Novik products are certified and tested in independent laboratories. For example, our products are guaranteed to withstand winds of up to 110 mph and maintain their resistance even under extreme temperature variations (-40°F to 170°F). Plus, they are class C fire rated. Furthermore, our siding is covered by a limited life time warranty for your peace of mind.

Is there a way to install this on a concrete wall? do I have to add vapor barrier first?
@novikstone58373 жыл бұрын
Yes, using either concrete nails or concrete screws, attach ferring strips to the outside wall oriented at 90 degrees from the horizontal. The distance between ferring strips should be 8 inches. Once the ferring strips are solidly installed into the concrete the siding panel can be installed to these ferring strips according to the directions in the installation guide. As for the vapor barrier, please verify its necessity with your local building code advisors. Regards!!
