I think it's a fun gun to shoot. It's a ridiculous gun but it mine has been flawless with zero malfunctions at 1k rounds. People complain too much.

Walther could have gone so much further with this pistol. They could have made it a low bore axis pistol like the HK P7, but instead, they made it much higher than most concealed carry pistols. They also could have made it a double stack, optic ready, internal hammer fired and longer barrel options. I also prefer the paddle mag release over the side button and a side ejection port instead of the full top/side port cut. This would be my dream gun. I'm still waiting for someone to make it. Sig? FN? S&W?

This gun isn´t really as chunky it seems. It's a cuple mm narrower than a P07 and the less capacity is becouse it is shorter, making it more conceleable. The pinky rest make it look larger. And also comes with treathed barrel

I was fortunate enough to get the gen 1 for $440 (iirc) from Field and Stream. I regret not going back to get another one. I've wanted the gen 2 with the optics cut but it is near impossible to find them in a store somewhere since FIME I think are the only carriers of them. Since when you do see them in stock they still over at that $800 mark, it is really hard to justify... especially with the Nocturne release/update to the 07/09 model line at $540, this is just WAY too expensive for the current offerings. At $650 I'd be all over it in the tactical model, but that is a few years away.

This is a great introductory SA/DA 9mm pistol. New shooters might like to have all of features: SA/DA hammer, mechanical decocker and safety that are out of the way unlike the Beretta 92 FS. Yes, it's a boat anchor.

You mentioned that you are not getting the life you expected out of your Infinity rubber targets. I wanted to try them but I didn't like their prices. $75 for a small "vitals" size target, was the cheapest I found. So I bought a 6'x4'x3/4" thick rubber fatigue mat from Tractor Supply for $60. I cut it into 6 pieces but you could get 8 IPSC style targets out of one mat. The outer most line of the "D" zone is the outside edge of the target. I wanted two bigger targets for shooting at distance, so I didnt cut two of the pieces. Cutting the mat isn't difficult. I cut mine with a circular saw. I put 2" foam insulation under the mat, layed it on a flat surface, used a drywall square to draw the lines, and cut a few small wedges before I started, because the rubber likes to pinch the blade. I cut into the rubber a little ways then put the wedge in the cut to hold it open. I got an IPSC style stencil off of Amazon and used it to draw the lines. I then used a Dremel with a small router style bit to cut the lines into the rubber. Trying to cut the lines and an angle so it would be harder for paint to fill the holes. However, the lines remain visible even after the lines get painted. These targets are a lot cheaper than those from Infinity Targets. For $60 you can get 8 IPSC targets. I always thought that they wouldn't last as long as Infinity's targets, but maybe they do. I have shot mine a lot and have had them on my range for a year now me and my friends that come and shoot have used them, and only now is the "A" zone beginning to get shot through. I would say you could probably get a hole started if you shot two 17 round mags into a spot about the size of a silver dollar, but I'm only guessing. If you wanted to maximize the longevity I would recommend making the target have multiple bullseyes so rounds are not consistently being shot at the same point. It might be a fun DIY money saving project for you.

I can respect the fact that you don't like this firearm, but it's clear that you did zero research at all into the reason for or effect of the unique design features of this firearm... There's absolute value in your individual reasoning & analysis, but you missed a number of important points by not giving this just a bit more attention. 😅

I had a very different experience with the Taurus G3X and G3C witg 15rd mag. The stability is vastly different. If your using a pinky extension on 12 rds it might as well be a 15 rounder printing wise. So just get the solid one vs the wiggly one if you're a 15 rd or bigger carrier.
