Whats the point if her fashion can only be afforded by 1% of the women. The rest can only look and admire. I think the whole concept of making fashion unaffordable is evil.
@CampbellStudio3 күн бұрын
Yeah, I get your frustration. Luxury fashion can feel exclusionary, and it’s not right to make it so unaffordable. But trends from high-end designers often trickle down, influencing more accessible styles for everyone.

Wasn’t Paul Poiret (1879-1944) who did away with the corsets? And womenswear had been borrowing from menswear at least from the Edwardian era. So, just what was Chanel’s innovation remains an unanswered question. The narrator is just going through platitudes.
@CampbellStudio4 күн бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out! You’re absolutely right-Paul Poiret helped free women from corsets, and menswear influences predate Chanel. Chanel’s innovation was creating simple, practical designs like her jersey suits that resonated with everyday women. I’m just one person researching and editing, so I don’t always get it perfect, but I really appreciate thoughtful feedback like this! 😊

You’re right Jackie wasn’t wearing Chanel, but it was very Chanel-inspired. She had to keep it American-made, but chic is chic!

Its so sad that so much female empowerment was/is rooted in shopping 😢
@BoxOKittens6 күн бұрын
it's not sad? clothing is and has always been very important, it's literally what we wear every single day. women used to only be allowed to wear huge and heavy gowns, to the point where women couldn't even swim or do most physical activities because their clothing was just too heavy. this change in fashion was one more step toward freedom.
@CampbellStudio5 күн бұрын
I get the point about consumption, but we all need to wear clothes-and for much of history, fashion was one of the few ways women could express power, identity, and even rebellion. It also shifted fashion away from being restrictive to more functional and empowering designs. So it’s not just about shopping-it’s about storytelling and change👗💪🏻

She didn't reimagine anything. She just copied others and had her wealthy lovers promote her. A charlatan, a racıst, and a Nazi sympathizing prostitute is her real background.

Yes, it’s important to acknowledge Chanel’s complicated history, including her ties to the Nazis during WWII. She was a brilliant designer, but her actions are a part of her legacy too.

Bjork was roasted for wearing this Swan dress at the 2001 Oscars with its provocative symbolism of a dying white bird in place of plunging necklines and high slits to reveal supple thighs. This dress foreshadowed the emergence of desperate starlets hungry for degrading roles in Tinseltown in the years to come and highlighted the difference between a clever feline and sexualized kitties.🎉

5:06 I feel like the lack of diversity bit gets thrown at creators and just others online as a way to simply tear down something you're not apart of. So what if you're not represented here? I certainly dont fit into the category of a "that girl" im pushing 40 years old and wouldnt count myself as thin. I still enjoyed those videos, they were aestheticly pleasing and gave me ideas for smoothies. 🤷♀️ You dont have to see yourself in litterally everything, it comes off as just a bit entitled and jelous honestly. "Skinny white women" are allowed to create content, and they wouldnt be successful with these videos without alot of people watching them.

The hilarious thing about the "cerulean" scene is that the sweater isn't cerulean. It's a good deal darker. I guess they couldn't find a lumpy sweater in the right color.

I totally get that! It’s not about being perfect or following a specific lifestyle, but doing what you can to feel good and take care of yourself. Small steps like waking up a little earlier, eating healthier, or going for a walk are awesome! Just keep doing your best, that's what matters 🌱💪✨

What distinguishes granola from gorpcore?
@Watch-b5r3 ай бұрын
Gorpcore is more outdoors-tech forward, whearas granola I feel like is campyer and a little softer
@CampbellStudio3 күн бұрын
Exactly! Gorpcore has that techy, utilitarian vibe with lots of outdoor gear, while granola feels more earthy, cozy, and laid-back-kind of like you’re always ready for a camping trip. Both draw from nature, but the style and vibe are definitely different!

There must be a miscommunication; or someone is trying to rewrite history again. A plethora of the so-called high fashion brands stole their designs from Africa! The Versace Greco was pilfered from the Funbam Tribe in Cameroon, Louis Vuitton monogram was stolen from thr Queley Tribal mask, and other symbols were taken from the Congo, Damien Ebene was stolen from the Kwele & Kube Tribes, and Fendi,Balmain,etc., did it too! Not one of the anterior designers would have experienced the rebirth or existed if they had not stolen their designs from Africa, period! Dapper Dan revolutionized the fashion game with logos from the Motherland, but He's a genius who gave them credit and hired our ppl to transform your lethar😂gic, designs, period! Not one of the anterior faux fashion labels has given any of the anterior tribes credit or money for what they stole! Why do some Eurocentric ppl continue to prevaricate about African history?

"A key word when it comes to Sharpay's outfits is: Layering, if you think Is enough, add something else" That resumes every single outfit from any Disney Chanel live action series/movie, they had a weird thing for putting as many layers of clothes in their actors as posible.

The thing is that the de-influencing movement started with the main goal of persuading someone they don't need the new (overpriced) trend of the week. Not to promote anything else. The first few de-influencing videos weren't trying to advertise a cheaper option.
