The thing about Megatron is that he actually has been expanded quite a bit in modern Transformers media. The most common backstory for him nowadays was that he was basically a slave turned gladiator who rallied many cybertronians behind him and start a revolution against the corrupt leadership of the planet. His downfall is that he becomes more obsessed with power and uses violence and fear to rule.

Ik this isn’t a Disney property, nor is it a ride, but my dad and I have always said that the movie The Goonies NEEDS a ride, specifically based around the underground portion where the main “adventure” takes place. That part when they all go down slides and the battle on the ship are absolutely perfect for a dark ride or slow rollercoaster

''Frollo is a terrifying villain because Frollo is real.'' ''An old man in a position of power who uses his power to persecute the innocent based on his personal religious beliefs but hides behind those same beliefs when confronted about the morality of his choices.'' sounds like the government in a lot of countries and a few famous people. It's actually quite sad and horrifying at the same time. especially in the US.

I'd like to take my time when concocting the exact right words to demonstrate how brilliant your essay is, about a criminally underrated Disney masterpiece. Until I do, I would like to know, what's that violin piece at the end of it, though? It's as bewitching as Hellfire itself!

There's nothing more depressing than learning that Fox Animation's biggest financial success was _Ferngully_ of all movies. Like Jesus Christ. Edit: I wouldn't go so far as to say Adam's Kimba/Lion King video was using 'bad faith arguments' when he compared certain shots from Kimba and The Lion King.
@masonidk65712 күн бұрын
Yeah, I worded that badly. Adam himself wasn't using bad faith arguments. He was pointing out bad faith arguments that Kimba fans were using against The Lion King that were just coincidence. His video isn't guilty of that and I recommend it. It's an excellent display of in-depth research and I love that video. I should have made that clearer in my text in this video. Looking back, it doesn't read right lol Thanks for watching and helping me to notice that!

I think one of my favorite animated antagonists that isn't from a major company--or an anime--has to be Thrax from Osmosis Jones, yes the movie that takes place in Bill Murray's body, I realize how deranged I sound. How does a movie that feels like every worst trope 2000s western animation (that wasn't made by Disney) have a villain this unironically good? Honestly the fact Omosis Jones is the way that it is only makes him stand out as an antagonist, like the movie comprised of 90% gross-out humor has a main villain who only has _one_ humorous moment and is otherwise played completely straight. Thrax's design and personality is an inverse of every other character in the movie, he's a sharply drawn, merciless and calculating _serial killer_ voiced by Laurence Fisburn; they got the same actor who played *Morpheus* to voice him. Also the scene where he explodes that one guy with his heat-death claw powers horrified me as a kid, I don't think I can remember any other movie from my childhood where the main antagonist like actually kills people on screen not once but twice.

This movie only gets better as you find out about the fan theory of this entire film being a hallucination of Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. There is in fact a scene where he comes to after trippin and is wearing a green lizard tail👀. On top of that, both star Johnny as the lead and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is directly referenced in Rango when he is getting flung out of his cage on the highway.

It is a HUGE shame it's not here but Disney wants to erase its existence so heavily I find that to be much more of a shame. I just hope they get their head of out their butt, they need to own that they made this movie, not erase it. Yes, it has very unsavory content but that's even more reason they need to. This and Be Prepared were done dirty without question on this list it's genuinely disgusting.

I love the fact of The Spirit of The West, based off of The Man With No Name/Clint Eastwood, is played by a modern cowboy actor, Timothy Olyphant from Justified.

My favourite instances of "children" animation appealing to adults and children are those that when you watch as a kid, you see the parents as the bad guys and the kids as the heros... Then when you watch the same show again, you realise the parents were stressed adults trying their best and the kids as little brats 😂😂😂 A Goofy Movie for instance.

Rattlesnake Jake is probably one of the most perfect character designs I have ever seen.
@Frozenkoldfury3 күн бұрын
It says a whole lot about how stellar this film is that the fear in Jake's eyes when Rango says "Try Me" feels genuine. They managed to make a Snake - a cold blooded Predator that could swallow a chameleon whole - look genuinely afraid for his life. And this is a character who looked like an actual Demon in his first appearance.

Hades was never considered a bad guy by the Greeks "Moses" never existed and Ramses was a good king to Egypt Get your studies better, fuck whatever Disney/Dreamworks said.

It’s not about you. It’s about them. Which is the truth. The main character is never relevant the plot. The truly important characters were the people who were living there and facing the plot. In most westerns the main character could have simply stepped out of the plot at any time. But he chose to take a stand for the others

So that makes two animated movies I love that had the full cast in the same room (first being Surf's Up). What hits me is that I don't think I've seen this movie since I saw it in theaters, and yet so much of it still sticks in my head--the music, the lines, the big scenes...this is honestly a really excellent movie and it's visually iconic as well.

A cool detail I really like is that right before Jake shows up Rango tells everyone that as long as the sheriff sign is still hanging there's hope Right after that Jake shoots up the sign and exposes Rango as a fraud In the finale when Rango returns we see the sign again It's covered in bullet holes, damaged, but it's still hanging
