I'm planning a trip to Guatemala with a friend, however all the travel websites say its not very safe. Is Flores safe?

Yes, I felt very safe! When I went to US government websites, they specified areas that they recommended people not travel to and they were all along Guatemala’s border. Flores and Tikal are in the country’s interior, away from the border drama. Just don’t talk politics and always maintain at least some caution and you two should have a great and safe time in Flores!

Def look into an app or something that gives travel safety updates for the area. I used the free trial for the Ozzi app while I was there.

Which hall in the Hill community is this and is there a “best one” to shoot for?

This is Hill Hall! I liked it because it was all-girl, meaning there were no fraternity pledges setting off midnight fire alarms. It's also right across from Tate Student Center and right next to Bolton Dining Commons! The worst part about it was the five minute walk to the bus if I needed to go to east campus, which I only had to go to for PE or to go to the gym, so it really wasn't that bad. If I had to choose a first-year dorm to live in I would definitely choose Hill again!
