Hey Happy D! I just wanted to write a comment on what this piece means to me. I've been trying to write it for over 5 years now, I might’ve even sent one before, but I feel like now's the right time. When I played pokèmon BW, the town of Village Bridge reminded me so much of my childhoid hometown I was living in at the time. (Well, without all the musicians that make the song so special). I thought if I could live anywhere in the pokémon world, it'd be there (or Oreburgh lol). At the time, I was scared to download OSTs, so I downloaded remixes from various pokémusicians, including yourself! BW2 came out during a tumultuous period of my teenage hood where I didn't know where I'd be. Village, town, village again, town again. It was a struggle getting out of bed every morning. So, to ease my anxiety, I set this rendition of Village Bridge as my alarm. That way, wherever I may be, I'd wake up to a little slice of 'home'. It's been over a decade. My life is a lot calmer now, while still progressing. Now I see even my childhood, near the bridge at the village center, wasn't all I thought it was. But even after all these years, when I set up an alarm for an appointment, I wake up to that nostalgic feeling of 'home'. As an (admitted non-professional) artist, I know how it feels to look back on something and feel like you could've done so much better. "Why did I make this cringe. This in no way reflects who I currently am." However, you couldn't be where you are now without everything that's come before. From what you saw that inspired you to what you made yourself. You are nothing without a start. A stick figure, finger paint, clay dolls, or a rusty note on an instrument. These are the most important pieces in the world. All art has value. I appreciate that you have left these older pieces available. If anything were to happen to my old file, I still have a piece of home somewhere out there that can be shared with everyone. You never know. That draft or piece you felt like was a waste of time; it might mean everything to someone a whole world away after what must feel like a lifetime has passed. Thank you for your work. Feels to me that we finally got access to an untrodden land that was long lost to time (like Area Zero) That is the feel this theme gives off Really wish we had more game content like gen 5 that was emersive and enjoyable Though from just the story and character's point of view, SV does hit the mark to some extent (Toby's music is also amazing) Hope this franchise would make another banger (also wish they dont repeat another BDSP with gen 5)

Now THIS is what "not sugarcoating it" sounds like. This is the best notation of a video game song I've ever heard. No chord or note is zombified or neutered by a lack of musical understanding, and the dissonance caused by the diminished 7ths shines through the soundscape like a pristine blade.

One of the best town themes, imo, in the entire Pokémon game serious. Period. I recently started learning piano, and I feel like I've gotten quite good at it. I wanna be able to do stuff like this.
