The endurance required to get through a rugby game is so much more advanced. Then they don't require to get through it nfl game. Think about it, it takes four hours to play sixty minutes of game time. How long does a rugby game take. And they only get one break, move to give. Each n f l player has its own special. A rugby player has to be able to do every move. You take the padding off an n f l player and make them stay working, running tackling for eighty minutes without the gear, they're gonna freak out.

Why would any NFL player want to play rugby. Highest payed rugby player in the world - 1.3 million per year. Average NFL salary - 3.2 million, Highest paid? 60 mil per year.

I think it's safe to say that neither player would be suited for the others sport. They have changed into very different games from their common roots. American football has changed into something completely different from any other sport. Rugby is more free flowing like a violent Soccer. American football is more about short bursts of full exertion with long breaks and very complicated plays. Athelete's build their bodies to suit their sport so I don't see how you could cross over to the other sport without years of training.

5 seconds is about the length of a play in the NFL so yes, a rugby player would definitely handle this. He's obvioulsy not going to be as good at it as an NFL player, far from it, but he'll cope. An NFL player would be on his knees vomiting after just 5 phases of a 10 phases 5mns non stop end to end rugby play.
