So far i dont trust you miners. You sound like some money hungry liers
@cristiancucu41005 сағат бұрын
well i do want to start it too and the way i think i will try it will be with a miner in the range of 2k $ ( mi adavantage is i dont pay for electric energy - big solar sistem ) if it does not work , for me it will be like the fact that i will not think enimore about ''what if i tryed that ?'' and only a loss of only 2 or 3 k $ .... call me stupid but that is what i think ..... if it works then i will go bigger do , just like every human should be , i am a greedy bastard :D

I just feel like if I ordered a miner, it would be losing money by the time it showed up and I plugged it in. In business school they would tell you to make the miners, not buy them.

So people buy shares of thin air , miners get shares of thin air to mine , they sell their shares of thin air to pay for electricity and equipment . I don't get it . They want to be free from goverment , but whe things go wrong , they want government to step in . This is all stupid .

just hit the ground running with solar, rates are not going down anytime soon even with next president. your going to be less stressed when you start offsetting power i know i was when i built my 3 acres of solar farm for my hardware. build it out, forget about getting miners right now expand your renewables so the rates don't stress you out long term

Im no expert and i am not into mining... yet ? idk. But 100k sounds crazy amount of money for an alternative like solar, he could put so many pannels and have free electricity thats insane. A bunch of hybrid inverters would be the right choice for getting back all that cost ... who knows its very speculative thing with crypto prices considered

You know better than most that we are about to go into a crazy parabolic run next year. I think you need to wait at least until ‘26 when we are entering into the next bear market. By then hopefully prices of equipment will come down. I would just put the money directly into the market at this point and hold off on any hardware purchases unless you can get a good deal.

Three phase, expand, get lower rates. Grows your profitability, longevity and ultimately your cash flow too. Start putting aside 10% of operating profit to a solar fun and roll out over time? Solar tech is evolving rapidly and new panels are coming soon that are even more efficient, mid to upper 20% conversion by 2030.

I have set up a small system to run my miners. Through inverters, and solar panels and I purchased thirty thousand watts of battery's. I had purchased everything from alibaba. I purchased 12 520 W solar panels in America from a local American company. I calculated that I would only get 5 hours of Sun. Per day and it's 520 W per panel per hour.that is 32.5 kw per day that would be enough to run all day long. And charge my battery backups at the same time for the nighttime.

@17:23 No go into that tangent. You were being biased or unnecessarily critical. You were speaking from your own experience. TLDR: I do wacky sh*t to and I would like to learn from someone else in a parallel sector about their personal experience and opinions on how the world around us impacts our bottom line. I am about the same age, level of income, and eccentricity as you when it comes to things like this. I host a dual xeon CPU, 72 core, 256GB ram, 48TB server with a TitanX and a 3090 in my garage for local business to host website basically at cost and local universities to run AI models. I charge 15% on top of the electricity/cpu time/upkeep which is all itemized and extra 5% for backup of their data on an FTP container. I don't charge when they ask me to stand up a CS server in another container or something like that. They are easily to pull/push. It also serves as a VPN. I can keep 99.95% upkeep with slightly limited performance of 98.08% for patches that I run monthly. It pulls 500-1000w when in use heavy use and goes down to less than 75w when it's idol. I barely touch the thing after I got it set up. I back up the containers daily and it is WAY cheaper than cloud providers. Plus, I physically meet the people so if they ever needed to I could pull the hot drive and its mirror dedicated to them (university) and hand it over no questions asked. Only that they cover the replacement drive which are WD Blacks and Reds so its $250? That is in my end of service agreement instead of a fee. I think I spent $500 not including the drives/10g switch that I already had but I make ~$250/mo regardless of the electricity since that is in the invoice for this thing to sit there and do nothing. Just a little contract language and modular build so I can port whatever they want if they want to take it but so far no complaints. If something isn't working maybe once a quarter, I spend an hour or two applying a new driver or a patch but it's maybe 4 hours of labor per month which decreases as there are only so many things that can break. I would like to get hands off or hire a freelancer to watch it for me but I think my clients trust me to keep their data 3 layers away from the wild internet with backups to boot so I believe that literally "come over and knock on my door" closed loop security is my brand at this point. Something completely self-closed like mining could be something I could get into with the new peroskovite solar panels.

Solar makes the most sense to me. Keeps things in your control. Thats why you're doing what you do, for you, not to make the power company money. Crypto goes bust you still have a nice solar farm.

Vosk, have you ever considered selling Electricity you generate from Solar? - like here in India, we have government schemes and subsidies to setup a solar farm on our land and sell the electricity to the Government - on some calculations, it is more profitable then mining - ofcourse mining some coins for future is always good - but then to hedge it with this can be another perspective.

Is it still the case that the moment you buy these miners, they are already outdated? And to be fair, before you 'profit' from these things, ... if 'only' 5-20 bucks a day, knowing the mining capacity 'goes down' , I mean, i still don't get it why you should mine at all! Allthough the 'greendeal' plans make it perhaps worth to buy such a device (if you have solarpanels), since our Dutch government pushed everybody toward 'going green' with solar panels, but now there is to much electricity on the net, so, they 'charge' you for the electricity you 'put back to the grid' But still 2000+ investment.... not sure

In this context, with these new numbers (DIYing it) with a 5-7 year payoff essentislly derisking your position because you are reducing costs and already maxed out on power. Solar makes a lot more sense. We also have no context as to the rest of your finances are. But the last 2 solar vids i watched it didnt make any sense to me. This still isnt what I would do. But it makes sense.
