No. It means that you will get a decision in 2 weeks (Accept/ Reject). If you are approved, it should take 1 or 2 weeks to be at your place. You can only start working if both the conditions below are satisfied: 1. Your first day of working should be from the date mentioned on your EAD card 2. This has been the case with many people. I’m honestly not sure how much time does it take and if they send it by check or direct deposit. Unfortunately there’s no way to check the status online. But you can directly contact IRS at 267-941-1000 and ask them for your status. Please let me know if this works!

So I was staying near USC with students. It was a 2B2B and the total rent was ~$2,500/ month and I used to pay ~$1,000. It really depends on your lifestyle and your preference. You can find an apartment for $900 as well as $2,500. If you are a student or just graduated, I would suggest sharing the apartment and typically find it near an university to lower your costs. The main purpose of the Form 3853 is to state that you HAD an insurance in a given financial year. Some people are exempt from having insurance if their income is less than the minimums set by the government. If you don’t send this form, they assume that you didn’t have an insurance and they would give you a penalty! I know this is weird, but this is how it is. I don’t know if any other states has similar form to be filled, but unfortunately California does. I hope this helps!!

My Undergraduate GPA was on a scale of 4 and I had 3.37/4. Fortunately, I didn’t need to give GRE as it isn’t required for my course (MS in Civil Engineering). I had a 7.5/9 for IELTS. I don’t think the score matters as long as you meet the minimum requirements (Civil Engineering): - Reading 6.5 - Listening 6.0 - Speaking 6.5 - Writing 5.5 OVERALL: 7.0

Hi Bharath! 1. CS is somewhat competitive at Purdue but you should definitely give it a shot by working on your profile (Resume and SOP). 2. As per my knowledge, the fees is the same for all the engineering disciplines. 3. Indian community is really good. Most of the Master’s students are Indian, followed by Chinese, Korean, etc. I would suggest you to join Purdue WhatsApp and Facebook groups when you get an offer and find an apartment together. Have a good group of people and your time at Purdue would be amazing ❤️

Purdue surely has a good brand name in the industry. The market is tough right now but let’s see when the market recovers. Definitely not EASY to get a job in any field. You would need to put efforts (applying a lot, reaching out to people, etc.).
