Are you coming just to travel for a month? Or looking for job? Typical expenses should be around $1,500/ month depending on where you find a place to live. Income is highly variable and depends on what field you are in!

You will have to work on campus. I was not a student in New York State but as far as I have heard from others, you can expect to earn $9-$16 per hour for a part time job. You can work on-campus for a maximum of 20 hours/ week.
