Great channel and content!.. I’m in the market to upgrade from my Canon 5D to the R6 but have seen a lot of reviews highlighting autofocus issues with the Sigma 150-600 C (canon fit) have you experienced this with your ef lenses with the canon rf to ef adaptor?.. Thanks and keep up the great content..

Good video Paul and useful. The light has been awful these last few weeks now and hardly been out with camera, hopefully it is better this weekend as otherwise slow shutter speeds and panning shots will be the order of the day

I could have done with this today. I always get confused with exposure compensation. I was walking in a country lane today in Poland, I stopped in front a small old tree to take a pee, and something right infront my eye jumped really fast😮 I grabbed my camera and spent the next two minutes taking what I thought to be great pictures of a Tree creeper. I was wrong, they weren't great pictures, there was a blanket white sky and I now have at least 20 great silhouette pictures of a tree creeper🐦🤦♂️

I am a handicapped person so i struggle to walk. I mostly do my photography from my car. I have always thought I am not getting great photos due to the mobility issues. This vlog is really helpful and gives me a bit of confidence. thanks for sharing.

You did a great job explaining exposure compensation Paul. I shoot in manual mode so now I know to adjust my ISO for exposure compensation. Thanks pal. 👍
@SkylarkFields5 күн бұрын
Thanks Paul - really useful advice. So did I understand correctly, I don't need to use EC when shooting in full manual mode?
@PaulMiguelPhotography5 күн бұрын
Thank you. That's right. EC only if Manual with Auto ISO. If fully manual, any changes will be you directly.

A good explanation of exposure compensation. Some DSLRs do show the histogram in live view. My Nikon D850 does this.
@PaulMiguelPhotography7 күн бұрын
Thank you for that. Yes, i guess in live view it will. Many thanks.

Hi Paul. I have a situation where I have been asked to photograph fledging Barn Owls by a local farmer this coming Spring. The box is in quite a confined/dark part of the barn. I have thought of three possible options. One would be to go in and use available light and just get the shutter speed as low as possible, another would be to introduce a directional fill light of some kind, some sort of daylight soft box, does that make sense? The other and the one I am not so keen on is flash, i was thinking maybe I could try muting the flash somehow, but still don't like the idea of it, plus more trial and error with exposing the images properly with flash, and having to reduce red eye in post. Would love to know your thoughts, thank you!

Really well done!! Yes, I use EC all the time! Great examples too!!!

Definitely need to test out exposure meter options. Since I can't hide in our backyard, my camera is frequently aimed at birds in the sky with +1 comepnsation. An aside-You never know when you need a plushie in tree photo. Have to admit when I was making an alphabet book for my nephew with my nature photos, I stuck a unicorn in our flowering peach tree for U. It turned out much better than my cheat quartz and x-ray images lol.

Hi Paul I have been mainly shooting in FV mode on my R6MKII with Auto ISO and Auto Aperture set, then using the shutter speed manually. With this setting I can still use exposure compensation to brighten or darken the image when needed. I used to shoot on M with Auto ISO and then manually control the Aperture and Shutter speed plus the exposure compensation if required. Great tutorial Paul, back to basics 👍 I quite often have to stop and think plus or minus which is darker and which is lighter 😂 I think it must be an age thing 😁 ATB Andy

Good video Paul, I have my histogram in the viewfinder and that tells me if I need any compensation. Normally shoot manual with auto iso.

I typically shoot my bird photos with -2/3rds exposure compensation to protect the highlites and adjust as needed from there.
@PaulMiguelPhotography9 күн бұрын
That's a really good idea. I often underexpose a bit for the same reason, particularly in bright sunshine.
