hey man you are doing a great job. ive seen that you use track footage as background in your videos sometimes even proper dorna television footage. i was wondering how do you use it so that it does not give you a copyright strike and what is a way to give proper credits? would really appreciate an answer thank you.

Although you rated Chang International Circuit as "A track", I want to highlight that it is one of the few circuits where spectators can view the entire track from the grandstands (along with circuits like Valencia and possibly Motegi). Regarding the weather, the ThaiGP is typically scheduled around October during the monsoon season. However, as the ThaiGP will serve as the opener for 2025, taking place in late February to March during the summer, it will be quite interesting to see how the change impacts the event.

I've been a fan of road racing of all type, motocross too, since the mid 60s. I'm ashamed that i don't remember hearing of Findlay. Yea, never heard of Ubbiali. He defiantly deserves to be recognized. No, haven't heard of Granath either. I remember Cecotto very well. And though these next 3 were never GP champions, they very well might have been. My first hero, Calvin Lee Rayborn II, who got killed just as he was coming on the GP scene. Rusty Bradley, killed just as he was emerging as one of the fastest racers. And then there's Bubba Shobert. His promising career cut short. How about a video on those who's career were cut short? I'm sure it would take several to fit them all in.

I agree with most but I'd have Mugello in S, Lusail in incredible and Motegi in Honda HRC, I hate that track so much, it's pretty boring, it's all about hard acceleration and hard braking that's all, and i can't remember a single good race at Motegi, most of them nothing really happens, maybe that one when Jack Miller won there was actually interesting but other than that it sucks, actually Lusail has had way better races recently, 2015 that amazing Rossi win and those unforgettable Dovi vs Marquez back to back last corner battles were a lot better than anything that has ever happened at Motegi, i don't think about layout when it comes to deciding whether or not a track is great, for me it comes down to producing great races, and Qatar is a lot better at that than boring Motegi, worst track by far for me, but everyone has a different take on things, so there's nothing wrong with your list.

Those last 3 corners at Mandalika are literally a direct copy of the last 3 corners of Termas de Rio Hondo, they're not unique at all.

A pride myself on race circuit knowledge, and whilst a few of the rankings are unexpected, Catalunya and Motegi especially, the reasoning helps me understand why you ranked them that way. I like Silverstone for it's high speed and flow, I love Thailand but nothing to do with the circuit but the fans are incredible. My favourite track is actually Termas de Rio Hondo, it's similar to the best track Phillip Island but I prefer Termas' long corners.
@TheBeehivePaddock3 сағат бұрын
Dude I totally dropped the ball with Termas in this video, I've rewatched some races there since recording and it would definitely move up. I just totally blanked when it came up

@@TheBeehivePaddock I agree that it's often forgettable, but I think that's just because it's usually the 2nd or 3rd GP of the year, was cancelled this year & was wet in 2022. Turn 6 is my favourite corner on the calendar, along with turn 13 at Valencia.

Hope you can go see a GP in person sometime soon.

the Italy-hate core is crazy🙏😭 nah btw as italian i agree on Misano, i don't like it and sometimes i get hate for that lol, mugello instead i think is S/Bradl tier. it has everything a track needs. heavy breaking, fast corners, elevation changes, chicanes and overtaking spots + a very good scenery (not quite as Phillip Island and Mandalika, but those have the ocean which is an easy win)
@TheBeehivePaddock3 сағат бұрын

yay i love tier lists. Brands Hatch should be used for the British GP. Silverstone 4/10 I didn't actually know that about Misano, explains a lot haha. Misano 3/10 Chang is cool I guess. 5/10 I love Spielberg. 8/10 I like Jerez, it's fun. 7.5/10 Philip is awesome. 9/10 I think Sepang is awesome. 8/10 Portimao is so good. I need F1 to go back there and I need the WRC to run it as a super special stage somehow. 8/10 COTA is awesome but I think Road America would be way cooler to have. COTA 6/10 Budh is good. 5/10 Assen is goat tier. Chicane at the end kinda sucks imo. 8/10, Chicane brings it down a lot for me. Qatar is... fine...?? slightly below average. 5/10 Catalunya is great I think its sick. Good on 4 wheels as well. 9/10 Valencia... I don't like it really. 3/10 Mugello is kinda cool but I fell like it's a bot too long. 6/10 Termas, no opinion. Should have a race at Interlagos instead tbh... Bugatti Circuit is fine...? 5/10 it's not really le man tbh... Mandalika, no opinion... don't kill me haha. Motegi, I think it's pretty good Sachsenring might be one of my favs. 9/10 good videoo

In my opinion it s important to separate the way you ride the track from the racing it provides For example mugello in italy is like god tier and to be ridden is a fantastic track but the racing... Maybe the most boring track for motogp Same for the Sachsenring
@TheBeehivePaddock3 сағат бұрын
I totally get that, the thing that makes everyone's lists most different is how they set the rules. Idk though, the Sachsenring has some bangers, mostly pre-Marquez because he has been so dominant there over the last decade
@synapsy92912 сағат бұрын
@TheBeehivePaddock in my opiniom the fact is that with this motorbikes many corners in which you could overtake you can no more so a track like mugello and misano loses like 70% of the overtaking hotspots since the bikes are too fast Same for the Sachsenring and other tracks like valencia which are two of my favourite tracks

Wow, i didn't know about the San Marino being the reversed layout thing. And also surprised with you hate it considering how much i know it as the staple of the calendar... Though ironic that the track crippled someone and made it so bad when it returned, then later on it was also renamed in honor of a recently departed legend, Marco Simoncelli

Silverstone is probably my favourite track in the world so I will have to fly the flag for it now. Very high speed circuit, especially the run from Luffield to Stowe is amazing and Copse and Stowe are some of my favourite corners to take. As a design it's very unique, especially if you look the corners after the long straights. In most tracks the corner that comes at the end of a long straight is a chicane, hairpin or some corner around 90°. Silverstone has a late apex medium speed left hander that leads into a low speed long right hander and a pretty high speed right hander around 120°. This allows the track to give some of the most amazing side by side action. There are also many corners where you can take multiple lines (turns 3, 4, 6, 7 and Copse) to be specific. And any overtake that happens in copse is just awe inspiring. Backtracking a bit, the single most important charachteristic of Silverstone is how unique the majority of the corners in this place are. Idk maybe it feels or looks better in F1 than Moto GP but I wouldn't call it just a track either.

I want to like it more than I do, I just don't for whatever reason. I really don't know why it just doesn't resonate with me, you make some super good points though, and differing opinions is what makes conversations like this worth having in the first place

@TheBeehivePaddock that's true. If everyone had the same opinion, conversations would be either non existent or really boring.

Jack Finlay, Gyula Marsovszky, Carlo Ubiali, Jim Redman, Bo Granath and Johnny Cecotto NEVER competed in MotoGP! Florian Camathias did not win the Dutch TT, he won the sidecar class of the Dutch TT in 1958. And when modern fans don't know them, as they don't know so many other great riders, then that's because they generally know nothing of motorcycle racing history!

Video suggestion - using only circuits that have hosted a GP at some point, make your perfect calendar. (For best racing only, assume homologation, safety and logistics can be sorted, even if the track doesn't exist anymore)
@TheBeehivePaddock3 сағат бұрын
Could be really cool, I want to make a video on all the tracks that are no longer in use, so maybe I can combine this in there somehow
@brandonm890113 сағат бұрын
I did not consider how subjective thinking tracks are good is. I probably only agreed with the placing of 3 on this list and always thought that was pretty objective in terms of what makes 'good' racing
@TheBeehivePaddock3 сағат бұрын
That's what makes conversations about MotoGP so cool, everyone really looks for different things to make a race "good". I know I can have some really odd opinions which is one of the reasons I made this video
@IainDochartaigh6614 сағат бұрын
Circuito de Jerez is S tier, it has everything a track needs, it’s got a decent straight, it has a hairpin, excellent flow and isn’t too short or too long. It has it all. As tracks go it is perfect.
@Emilnyborg14 сағат бұрын
I have never seen a race in BRNO, is it good and where would you place it? (And I think you forgot the sachsenring)
@TheBeehivePaddock3 сағат бұрын
The Sachsenring should be the last one on the list. Brno is pretty solid, it doesn't really have the corner variety I usually like, and the final sector is a little repetitive for me, but it has made for some really good racing and it's clearly a super well designed track. The scenery is really nice too, but forests are also like my favorite kind of scenery anyway. I'm really excited for it to come back next year, and it would probablyt go at the top of above average or bottom of incredible, somewhere around there.

My family is born and raised Phillip Island so I’m very lucky to have been going to GP/SBK races there my whole life. It just sucks that they insist on having the GP in October instead of the start of the season when the weather is amazing ☀️ Also, if you look at the Island on Google maps, you’ll see the circuit is actually designed off the shape of the Island itself.

EDIT: it should be a lot better in the re upload coming later today

The no bike change rule during a dry race seems a bit superfluous. Going into the pits at all basically guarantees you'll be way in the back anyway. I also get the impression they don't do black flags as often these days. Seems like they do position penalties the next weekend now. At least in the premier class and a long-lap penalty doesn't work for whatever reason.
