Stationed at GAFB, from 75-76. Lived WAY off base, in Apple Valley, 12 miles away, because my wife & I were on separate rations. Nearly had to go to Korea, with another guy (we were on "mobility"),

With all due respect you're touring an air base get to the hangers and runways old buildings are old buildings Usually ripped through by vandals for copper and other things and of course Griffin
@rick5793Күн бұрын
What a waste of tax payers money!! The vandales should be held accountable. This is just absolute 🐂💩. Just think of the families and individuals that could use the housing. Just a FREEKN waste.

You wonder why don’t they take them down. I wonder the same about the auto industries abandoned plants that run for acres. Money !! I’ve thought that they should be held accountable for their mess. Take them down and plant trees.

I worked there for @ 18 weeks in the mid 90's when they were trying to get business to move in. We built a proto type air plane mock up. I was privy to see one hanger opened that was full of vehicles of every type needed to run the base. I was able to fly a plane in and out of the base. The houses were still in great shape just the yards were dead. The hospital looked brand new. Such a crying shame to see it all torn up.

These women are pathetic. We got cancer from living there. More like all the toxic food we eat daily thats full of every kind of toxic stuff known to man. I can't believe people still belive these lies. How about the millions of Americans that get cancer daily that weren't stationed at a base? Who can they blame that on

Nice video! The only thing is I think you plugged the battery and solar panel into the wrong ports. The battery plug is the bigger PH2.0 port, and it is labeled on the board. You need to get the smaller JST 1.25 plug for the solar panel.

Hill Air Force Base in Utah is still active and STILL a SUPERFUND site. They have tried to keep it hushed, but we found contaminants leaking to nearby homes and also into the Great Salt Lake to the west. The EPA still has not followed up and have not required cleanup. There are 16 active plumes on the north and south side of the base.

And with Trump in power again, no cleanup will happen

Sad i live near the old Closed now but it opened in 1917 closed 1993 Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul Illinois the Government sold the closed up base to the city for $1.00 dollar all the officer duplexes are always rented and some of the other usable buildings are rented out the newer barracks are used by Lincolns Challenge its for troubled youths It’s like a military school, they live on premises for 2 to 4 years and some of the old barracks are gone they were in bad shape the air field is still active by a private air club pretty sad the Government can just walk away from a base if they wouldn’t give away Trillions of dollars to other countries could of saved a lot of Military Bases all over the Country

Y’all are idiots. This stuff is supposed to provide sustenance and keep you alive. It’s not meant to taste like a 5 star meal or a home cooked meal. IF A WAR BROKE OUT AND ICBMS start falling out of the sky you won’t be worried about taste or quality. You’d be worried about safety, protection and where is my next meal going to come from if even if it comes. It’s not supposed to be the greatest tasting thing. It’s meant to have something for you so you don’t have to risk life and limb looking for a meal for you or your family and it’s meant for EMERGENCIES. That’s what’s wrong with us now, convenience and complacency. “It doesn’t taste good” you’d be lucky to have anything to eat when SHTF if you didn’t already prep. Wake tf up and prepare yourselves.

I was stationed at Norton AFB PDS but spent a few TDY's at George. It was a very well kept facility back then, actually quite beautiful. This was in '80/'81. Kind of heartbreaking to see this video.

Once again, after WW II, Korea & Vietnam the USAF had too many bases. Couldn't afford to keep them all open. I get they're missed, but they still have a proud history. I helped close Reese AFB in just 2 yrs. Good, bad or indifferent the communities are on the hook to reuse them. There are a number who have done that very well. Others haven't been so fortunate. So, as they show the "abandoned " bases understand it's the cities & towns who're responsible for whatever state they're in.

Stationed at GAFB from 87-90. Those buildings at 13:14 were the barracks for the 37th TFW. The smaller buildings were the CQ, dayroom and laundry. I lived in the one on the left. They were brand new when I got there. Miss the place sometimes.

Do your research about the shelf life of the ingredients. Dairy powders and oils go rancid eventually. Baking powder loses its fizz after a few years. If you need baking powder 25 years from now, store the baking soda and cream of tartar separately and mix up small batches of baking powder for a few months at a time.
