I looked at the ingredients and thought of it as a starch bucket before i bought it. Mix these packets with some canned meat and you got a meal. It eliminates the guess of what to make which is helpful. Who really wants to think of whats for dinner during shtf?
@LaceyFamilyFarm2 ай бұрын
Your comment is very true, I’ll give you that. I was just stating that compared to other meals that are similarly made. This one is terrible. You would be much better off going with Mountainhouse or another similar brand
@josephjarvis8228Ай бұрын
Finally an honest review of this stuff lol, too many people have to be paid to say they are good I’ve taste tested all of these meals and they are absolutely gross and ask for too much water, buy mountain house, my Patriot supply as for taste is good but it’s also trash nutrition wise
@makodaniel48854 ай бұрын
I was thinking about getting a "years" supply from them but a year from them really means 3 months tops. Take how ever many servings they bloat up on there and divide them by 4, that's how many actual meals you get. 60 servings in a tub? 15 meals, that's it, oh and don't forget half of that is the orange drink mix you make could yourself for pennies on the dollar. (off brand tang is better , cheaper and lasts just as long) I am so glad I did not buy even 1 bucket from them.
@susangirardi36554 ай бұрын
Buying individual things is a better plan. Pasta, dried beans, rice, dried fruit, canned tomatoes, dry milk, etc and actually make a better version of this stuff is going to be more cost effective and yummy.
@stevem67114 ай бұрын
Problem is the time it will maintain its shelf stability. All the canned stuff will have limited shelf life.

Unless you have a potable water source AND a heat source, any freeze-dried survival food product is nearly useless in an emergency. On the flip side of the coin, would you rather rely on an MRE that has much less of a shelf life? Finally, being prepared BEFORE an emergency occurs is what counts.

The heat source isn't that difficult to get. You can just make a fire
@allyn10164 күн бұрын
Actually you do not even have to have a heat source, you can mix water and let it sit for a couple hours and it will soften up and rehydrate@@juan-ko5hz

Mountain House is decent as to taste, none of the others are (the ones I have tried). The bags are all stated as being two servings; But they must be talking about young kids, a man is going to require all of it, and more (IMO) I can picture myself happily using the Mountain House bags I have occasionally after SHTF and not being too disappointed. They would be a good change from the rice and beans.

When buying any of these check the calorie count of the servings. Most are very low. Not just ready wise. In a SHTF situation your gonna need your 2000 calories or more per day if your working, like cutting firewood . And a pack that's 4 servings but you only need 1-2 servings how do you store the rest?
@tempest-5234 ай бұрын
What I don't like is they factor the orange drink as servings. I'm getting this thing for food. Yes electrolytes and salt is important but when I'm buying food, I specifically want food items. I don't like when they combine them like this because you see, Oh 500 servings or whatever and think you have 500 of food... but you don't.

I bought 2 different brands. I live where there are hurricanes. I opened and tasted the pancakes, delicious. Not sure about anything else but taste buds vary and mine aren’t finicky at all. If I remember right the daily calories is only 1200. Remember this is for an emergency, it’s not designed to stuff you but keep you alive. Most people have plenty of fat on their body and over eat
@makodaniel48854 ай бұрын
Orange drink mix.. 32 servings. so when theres an emergency and you have calculated how much your gonna need for your family, and you think you have got enough food with readywise? think again! I can sell you an apple and call it 12 servings. "here is a knife, get to slicing"

Do your research about the shelf life of the ingredients. Dairy powders and oils go rancid eventually. Baking powder loses its fizz after a few years. If you need baking powder 25 years from now, store the baking soda and cream of tartar separately and mix up small batches of baking powder for a few months at a time.
@chrisbrown26274 ай бұрын
I have heard the quality is low with Ready Wise . I would try a couple more to be sure of your findings. The rest if still bad can be given to the homeless or something.
@allyn10164 күн бұрын
Yes readywise does suck, something else I discovered also what's in the bucket doesn't add up to the serving number on the outside of the bucket.

I personly tryed couple off MREs and emegency foods and allot of them didnt taste so good. Yes if youre in emergency and there nothig you will eat eveything to have. But for the price of MRE i can make my own mre and just buying products i really enjoy to eat. I think if persone buy empy Bucket and put food they enjoy and store it are be more happy when they need it. If you buy small bag of rice you can make 10 meals for 1 person its much cheaper than buy a mre pack what only for one or two days

Yes to this. I agree completely. We have a Freeze Dryer and actually do this. But I know most people dont have that luxury, so we are trying to find good ones for people that they can buy. This was not one of them.

@@LaceyFamilyFarm of course, and I didn’t mean to come off as if you were saying that. Being into firearms, I’ve come a long way from my first standard 16 inch rifle to building my own 13.9 P&W. I bring this up to make the most relatable comparison I can which is once you know what you’re doing with certain things you just kind of don’t want the same old same old. just like me if you can do something yourself why give your money to anyone else knowing you’ll do a better job. A startup set like this might be great for somebody who doesn’t know anything about Prepping but for experience individuals it’s a whole different story. The details matter for us.

Paying a premium (you pay a HUGE, GINORMOUS premium for dehydrated food) for useless carbs is BEYOND stoopid. Only purchase animal protein & fat items in such a form. In a survival situation you'll need at least 2,000 kcal/day. Ignore what they package says for daily servings. So purchase accordingly.

Because it was watery and tasted like crap. It was worse that Kraft. I actually like Kraft. I didn’t try any others because of all the foods the Mac and cheese actually sounded like it would be decent, but wasn’t. And yes, when they count the servings of the orange drink as one of the total servings, then yes it is a scam.

I’m inside Costco watching this with my mom and she knew it was a scam and we watched it together while waiting for her medication and laughed at all of it because it’s true and we are laughing at the sizes of servings. This had 42 packages. The one in front of me and says 136 servings. Yaaaaaa, No. this is such a scam. We can buy can foods and make our own creations and or pack something of our own in this case but this is NOt the ONE ☝️ 😅

In his defense if you look at the directions in the kit it does say just to add hot water, cover, and stir off heat. I think the videos of everyone else cooking it on heat is probably the preferred method but may not be practical in an emergency situation. That being said I think calling this product a scam is just clickbait.
