Valuable information, but does your intro have to be so long?
@Mavericksa
@Mavericksa Жыл бұрын
No it doesn't. Video was made a long time ago I grow tired of long intros as well as slow to the point videos now a days myself. I enjoy sharing information feels good when others find it informative or of value. Since KZbin demonetized smaller accounts honestly I am less motivated. I would spend the hour or so of my time to shorten the intro and reupload it for future viewers however clicking past the intro is best. In future videos I already plan to lay out any important details in the first 15-30 seconds. I'll check out your channel see what videos you have posted and like and subscribe appropriately. Thanks for the feedback.

Not sure if I’ll get a response but I have the same car and the same misfire. What exactly was done to keep the oil from getting back in the spark plug wells?
@Mavericksa
@Mavericksa 10 ай бұрын
maybe you already found it but there is a PCV valve tube upgrade and oil filler cap. PCV Positive Crankcase Ventilation. Condensation develops during temperature swings when its cold i believe that water expands into water vapor. When water turns to steam it expands 1100 times. That is what pushes oil out and leaves the milky residue under your oil filler cap. They want $124 for the stupid kit.

I've got the opposite problem, no air conditioning. I'm in Texas so I really need it. So you're saying the flap won't stay in the a/c position if I take the glove box out and manually switch it from heat to ac?
@Mavericksa
@Mavericksa 3 жыл бұрын
The blower fan pushes it into heat position. I use a thick wire to keep it in the cool position. Ran it through a hole in the back of the glove box. However your air-condition issue may be something else. Good place to start maybe. My AC doesn't work right now neither does my wife's. Same car. We added freon to hers a while back helped some but then went away. I thinking they both will need a new ac pump. Check power to your switch the flap, make sure you can hear the pump switching on and off by pressing the switch while listen for the "clunk sound" and seeing if the pulley on pump is engaging. Turning.
@yamnjam
@yamnjam 3 жыл бұрын
@@Mavericksa I'm pretty sure it's holding freon, I put a gauge on it and it read on the lower end (but still in the green), then went off the chart. I think it's bc the compressor is kicking on and off because it's low, not sure. There's something goofy about the ac on these cars. It used to work, then it didn't. But when I switch from cold to hot it makes no sound so I'm pretty sure the blend door actuator isn't working. I will check the fuses too, since that also seems to be an issue...if the front two fans aren't running the ac won't work right.

Should I change the brushes?
@Mavericksa
@Mavericksa 3 жыл бұрын
@@ronnieferguson8781 if the motor has been used a lot over the years it may need new brushes . You can take a look while you have the back off. Failed brushes may cause the breaker trip. If the motor turns a little before it trips the breaker would indicate the brushes have some life still.

Thank you sooo much. We have 199 320ML with 260,000 miles in pretty good condition. We are keeping it "healthy" and running. The issue with no heat or sometimes heat, just started. Our mechanic explained about the flap not opening. He said that he need to take apart the whole console, which will be quite costly labor wise. Your video helped my husband and I to get the heat going. Thank you. For now we are not touching it until we may need air-conditioning. Great job I have never seen anyone explain and give such detailed instructions.

You checked the water right? Simple however I never knew untill I knew about the water heats up from the engine then the thermostat opens which then allows hot water to circulate and flow into the heater core. Heater core is located roughly where the aviators is and is basically a small radiator with a blower that blows through this small radiator (heater core) and into the vents etc. Heater core can become clogged with rust, themstats can rust closed, make sure you have water. ..... ??

They had the neighbors over one night all working on it. I love finding solutions so this was a welcomed little challenge. Soon as I got it I wanted to share it even if it only helped one person. Seemed kind of silly too but glad it helped and thank you for your kind words. If you feel like subscribing that would be awesome.
