JNT may have been relieved to move onto other things, but it's debatable whether the beeb would have given him them. I think they realised early on they had made a mistake appointing him producer so young without any notion he could recognise good scripts, and afterwards kept him on in the show because nobody else wanted it, and it would be damage limitation keeping him off more prestigious series.

The Tardis crew team up with a resistance movement who have uncovered a Nazi plot to send German troops across the English Channel. Note: Jamie meets his future descendant, Fergus McCrimmon. The Master (4 Episodes) Yes, it’s an origin story. On a futuristic penal colony, a revolt is stirring among the inmates. The Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe are caught up in dangerous situations, and soon discover a fugitive from the Doctor’s world is the perpetrator behind the events. When he brainwashed Jamie and Zoe to become his helpers, the Doctor must confront the powerful foe who was once his best friend. The Laird of McCrimmon (6 Episodes) Set sometime after the events of The War Games, the Doctor, recovering from an unsuccessful attempt by the Time Lords to force his regeneration, winds up in 17th Century Scotland where he meets Jamie once again. But now a familiar foe of the Doctor is controlling the inhabitants of Castle McCrimmon, and Jamie has no memories of his past. Can the Doctor help Jamie regain the memories erased by the Time Lords, and help him defeat the Great Intelligence and the Yeti once again? Note:This story ends with the Time Lords making the Doctor an agent after finding out about his final defeat of the Great Intelligence. It leads into The Two Doctors and ends Season 24. There’s also a Time Lady that turns out to be an earlier incarnation of the Rani, although she’s not quite evil yet. (That’s a story for a different time).

I will have a look at this new spin off when it comes out. My favourite Doctor who spinoffs are Torchwood and the Sarah jane adventures.

It would be interesting to either rewrite some of these stories that were dropped into a complete new series and find a way to tie them into the series together like they have been doing so far or have a spinoff of untransmitted stories possibly trying to have original cast members play their parts. Since the Doctor now his bigenerations now, they could be inserted as post stories.

We just need Matt Berry in Doctor Who in any capacity.

I have a lot of favourite doctor's really my favourite's from the classic era are Patrick troughton Jon pertwee Tom Baker Peter davison colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy and i like all the doctor's from the revived era(that is Christopher eccleston,David Tennant who is my favourite,Matt Smith,Peter capaldi,Jodie Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa. My favourite eras are the 1970s the 1980s and the first Russell T Davies era.

What if the doctor/ John Smith stayed human in the family of blood, and maybe gave the fob watch to the family? 😮

What could have happened was not Colin Baker regenerating into Patrick Troughton, but a season set in the Second Doctor’s past. Tales set between existing stories. Maybe an earlier encounter with the Master or the Rani. Or one story featuring the Terrible Zodan, since she was mentioned as being encountered by the Second and Sixth Doctors.

For the alternate 6th and the 7th Doctor Troughton intros is there a way to watch them here?
